I wasn't old enough to witness the effect of Pac passing away but this one is different. Now I understand what the older people in my life were going through. It felt like I lost a family member when I saw the headline even after mentally preparing for it since Saturday

I'm playing nothing but X all weekend. In my heart I'm happy he finally found the peace and light that eluded him during his life on Earth. His legacy and how he affected so many lives will speak for itself

Even I was too young to really feel the effect of Pac’s death all I remember is it was surreal because he was like a superhero. It’s interesting because the more I’ve returned to his music the more I feel it’s appropriate to say X was Pac’s unofficial successor and I only say unofficial because he made his own way and was clearly his own man and phenomena. But no one brought that much gritty raw honesty since Pac. His legacy was paradigm defining and gave real street shyt it’s second wind after 96/97.
