Til this day it's the single greatest performance I've ever seen and I've been to alot of shows/concerts
It was just him by himself rocking the crowd with serious energy. He never let up once. No hypeman nothing. Did a really deep prayer at the end and had everyone almost in tears.
Ok so I remember first hearimg of D on Ma$e's Album and my Ears kinda Perked up especially since it was during a Post Pac/Biggie World of Hip Hop. I remember visiting NYC Winter 97 and seeing Mixtapes with his Name next to say Canibus and The Lox but I was skeptical on coppin cause some of the ones I would cop prior had songs that was on Retail joints and I didnt know about the Reputable NY DJs at that time so I was just looking at any old Tape on that CarpetSo in 98 I remember seeing this Flyer with him on it and mentioning the Song" Get at Me Dog" on it and I didnt hear it yet until I saw the Video and I went and got the Single wit Stop Being Greedy(which would Lock me in as a Fan as well as his Verse on Money Power Respect) and a Freestyle joint wit The Lox as the B Sides
When the Album dropped I remember being able to get the Homies who had No Limit joints spinning and throw it in the Rotation during NBA Live Runs and just fukking wit it laying the Foundation for when Flesh Of My Flesh dropped which it dropping that same Year was a Shock
Of course he(as well as the next Gen of Def Jam 98)being the Voltron Head who ushered in a New Era of Rap post Pac/Big,The Source Cover wit the Class of 98,RR Vol 1,The Kurupt Beef()Belly left so many memories which is why I kinda say 98 was a GOAT Rap Year
Salute to The Greatest,You are Ready To Meet Him now
:Calling Out Names hit my Spotify Random recently and I kinda did say the MOTHERfukk DMX part but low and to myself because even tho things been Squashed the Song is Fire
