its funny cause I saw the GQ interview DMX did that's on Youtube about the Ruff Ryders anthem and he was saying he thought the beat was repetitive and said his lyrics he wrote were real ABC and his style is more intricate with the lyrics when it comes to the other songs on the album.

people who say X isnt a lyricist are only listening to the adlibs. X is one of the most poetic Mc's of all time and just because its not traditional run of the mill multi syllable shyt he gets slept on. his old music from the early 90's sounds like Rakim and he got 0 love for it but it was amazing lyrically.
