They say the movie basically assumes you have know the characters and games. There is no world building or character development.
It rushes through two games in 110 minutes. It's pretty much a wiki plot synopsis of the game.

is they made leon motherfukking s kennedy a fukking herb 
...sure he wasa rookie in RE2 but he wasn't no fukknig loser ass dweeb ass bytch like he was here.
he was practically useless 99.9% of the film
but they were able to recreate some iconic scenes from the first 2 games, and the set pieces were superb.
