Anyone playing on PSVR?
I picked the game up on my lunch break and play for about 35 minutes in PSVR.
I want to do my first play through completely in VR.
Some things I noticed in the 35 minutes I played:
1) Graphics take a major hit
2) Standing feels more comfortable
3) Motion sickness is definitely going to be a factor for me. In the 35 minutes I played I only made it into the kitchen. The reason is two fold: 1) The immersion is intense, easily the most immersive PSVR title available. I spent A LOT of time looking around the environment. In VR you get to see more than you do on a regular TV. For example, when I walked up to the van, I opened the door and leaned all the way into the van and looked around. There's really nothing to see in there but it adds to the detail and overall immersion of the game which is very important for a VR title to feel real. 2) The movement can be dizzying. Walking or running straight and looking around works fine but any sharp movement with the right thumbstick gave me that queasy feeling in the bottom of my stomach. Not "sick" but that slight discomfort you feel before getting sick/nauseous.
4) This game is going to be horrifying in VR. When I got to the house I stood at the doorway for about 2 seconds looking into the darkness of the house. I looked back over my shoulder to see the difference in lighting outside. The entrance was very dark and I had a tiny sense of anxiety expecting a door to slam or something to jump out.
So far the game is roughly what I expected in PSVR. I seriously hope it doesn't make me completely sick. VR has been hit and miss as far as that goes and I've noticed that sometimes I can bear it more the longer I play. Not longer in actual play time, but playing more often has a conditioning sort of effect in my experience.
