i havent played the original in at least a decade, but my memory makes me think the original's melee combat was more effective than the remake's...

nikka THAT nikka is the one who mentioned Silent Hill in the first place. U know what's annoying?. RE4 fans. And it's not like I don't love the game. But muthafukkas is the ones who cause the franchise to go down the tubes for years because most of the people claiming it was the best RE game wasn't even big fans of the series to begin with. RE4 is the GOAT RE game for casual RE fans who weren't fans of the original mechanics. shyt is like how people treat BOTW when it comes to Zelda.

Son I'm not having a temper tantrum. Ur the one who said it's far better than Silent Hill n all that. When it ain't even really comparable really. Silent Hill is a true horror game. RE4 is action/horror. And Dead Space Remake def gives this remake a run for its money.

Enjoying this much more than the RE2/3 remakes.

If an enemy is lunging at you without a weapon how can you escape that besides shooting them? Can doge/roll away? I know you can parry with the knife but what about grabs/lunges?

I love how they remodelled the castle entirely to remove the annoying/redundant rooms, it feels more streamlined without making it feel too linear if that makes sense? Like the whole layout is “neater”

I only wish they removed the solo Ashley section too, but at least here it’s quicker/less irritating

Just saw a YouTube comment saying you can just crouch.

You fighting a losing battle breh. The game is a phenomenal remake of one of the best games ever.

How can re4 be one of the goat games in general and not arguably he the goat of its series :dead:

Bro I don't think it's not a phenomenal game.

Fact of the matter as GAME re4 was always far superior to any silent hill and I consider every thing in that series but the actual playing of the games unparalled up to 3 :dead:

Them shyts are absolutely a struggle to play n its wven more noticeable today


Like I think if they just made the fukking silent hill films 1:1 adaptations theyd be oscar worthy shyts lol. But the gameplay was always ass

To follow up on this, since Iv just hit the island, they really have cut out literally every minor area that I considered to be tiresome on replays…

The Sewer Section with The Acid Insects

The annoying room full of RPG and crossbow enemies where you have to chase the elder with the key

The big moving Salazar Statue room with the big hands that you have to control up and down with levers

The Trap corridor with the spinning blades

The weird lava room where you have to snipe the enemies on top of the dragon heads

A Good half of the Cave/Mine Section

It’s All Gone :wow:


And this was always one the longest games in the series so it doesn’t hurt the length of the game at all unlike how they butchered the RE3 remake by cutting out entire locations, everything just flows together so much smoother
