For people arguing about the price, I recently set up my PS1 this fall and played the Resident Evil 2 demo and also got A PS four and downloaded this 30 minute demo,

They're actually completely different games

It's just the same outlier plot and characters

The remake the zombies are partically unkillable it took like four to five head shots like I put my gun right on their head and they won't go down

They also make it the zombies can come through the windows and they now have an incentive to try to Chase you around as much as they can and go through doors where the original if leon got out that space you are good

Capcoms been doing these update to the evil series for the new generation of systems... But this even did the dialog completely different

I avoided detailed gameplay videos/ articles about this game cause I knew they give too much away, but from the little I did watch (just two trailers, and a very short e3 video about this game) I knew enough going in that the scare factor was kinda gone :snoop:

How some People go out of their way to read up on everything and watch these play throughs is beyond me :why:

How does the knife break? Why can't I get something to hit these fools and knock them back or do a head stomp when they're on the ground? They keep fake dying and getting back up.

Im upset that the gameplay is very very different from the OG but the way the game is made is very impressive. I was shook the entire time playing it. I kept pausing every few minutes to check the timer on how long I been playing, and it was always like 10 minutes less than I thought, thats how shook I was. Every minute felt like 5. Having areas be dark with the shyt flashlight, combined with the random creaks and general sound design really make you feel uneasy. When I completed the demo in 25 mins, I was like goddamn that actually felt like a 2 hour session.

:damn:

This shyt gonna be special :wow:

I just completed the demo with the timer frozen and I wanted more :mjcry: Feels just like what I want a RE game to be. Scary, tense and chock full of "need Clover key to open locked door but I have to solve this puzzle to get the Lion Medallion to get there" goodness.

The zombies be pump faking though, they'll look dead and then get up like 5 minutes later out of nowhere.

Figured out some of the issue with the visuals is that the HDR is broken. For those who have this on PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. Turn HDR off. Its implemented horribly. May get patched when the game releases.
HDR looked fine on PC. I didn't bother with the console version.

Controversial opinion here but

I played the demo twice on a PS Pro and now I'm currently playing it on a vanilla OG Xbox One (no X)

And it looks better on the OG Xbox imo.

On the pro it looked washed out, similar to how RDR 2 looked (and still looks) with HDR turned on.

The lack of HDR on the of Xbox makes it look better and less washed out to me

:manny:

Pretty sure I can replicate this image on the pro by turning off the HDR, but honestly u shouldn't have to do that. HDR is supposed to make ur shyt look better, not worse (HDR in God of War, Spiderman and Detroit Become looks great)

That's not a fault of the PS4, that's a game specific problem. The same issue would've occured had you been playing on an Xbox One S or X.
