Yep, site is popular as hell. The 700k yearly was from ad revenue and subs(EraClear got rid of ads). I’m sure at least 500k of that was from ads. So I’m sure a company that specializes in forums saw that and knew they could probably double that revenue and recoup the 4.5M easy.
They are playing it, the shyt they pull on the site is just something to make them feel more comfortable about it. The LGBTQ squad over there has way too much influence and has successfully run off damn near every other major group the site had. So now everyone else has to pretend they arent playing this game just to appease them. Its fukking crazy.

Honestly, I don’t think it’s even that deep. I just think the mods did a full ban because it would be less of a headache than trying to mod HL discussion at all.

It somewhat makes sense since it's one of the popular news outlet for games and they implement ads. However, I feel most of their users are savvy enough to use an adblocker. Also, it wouldn't shock me if they're selling info because they do require users to use a private email address to register
