Well, Romney isn't the best speaker. He knows how to get things done and he's been successful as a businessman and as the governor of Massachusetts. Romney needs to focus on the positive things he has done in his political career because it shows he can turn things around. Economy is the biggest issue that can turn things around in his favor.
Die hard republicans aren't going to jump ship after a bad debate.
Problem is that any success he had as governor was as almost a completely different politician than what he's now presented himself as a presidential candidate, and bringing up Mass just plays into Obama's hand w/ the healthcare issue and presents some tough questions for Mitt to answer. Though, I have a feeling he's gonna be answering tough questions all night regardless.

That's true.
At least the Godfather Pizza dude didn't make it this far.
If they brought that affair up in the first debate, the whole republican party would be like.... :damn:

Romney botched it. Obeezy has a lot of gaps but Romney can't even get his footing

And he has been drinking the partisan Kool Aid, rather than focusing on the obvious and glaring issues that have come up during Obama's presidency. Maybe he was waiting till the home stretch, but he has done a lot of damage to himself in the interim

Real talk, I was hoping that "CEO president" shyt would come to fruition and dude would be a straight talking solutions focused no nonsense candidate... he has failed on every one of my hopes for him.

It's all pre-game fluff. I need to see the first debate.

Why? Debates have little effect on elections, and really serve no purpose.
Okay. If you believe that, just call up the DNC and tell them Obama doesn't need to show up for any of the debates. It's all good. :stylin:

I mean, despite having little effect on the election, I still want to see Mitt Romney sweat. Obama at least looks natural when he lies; mitt looks like a glib sociopath

i don't htink the debate is going to win people over, but it certain can lose people.

NOthing romney says is going to win over a democrat...but he can lose republicans
Nothing Obama says is going to win over a republican....but he can lose democrats.

I think short of coming out with a sack of kittens and a giant mallet and going all "Gallagher" on stage Obama isn't going to lose much of anything.

I think Romney is more in danger of losing Conservatives closer to the middle than Obama losing anyone.

but they allow us to dance on Romeny's grave. Republicans will rip the poor guy to shreds after he loses, the blame should lie on John Boehner tho, he's the one who let the extremist wing of the party take over. Their firm belief that no president has ever won reelection with >8% unemployement clouded their judgment...they were quick to forget no african american ever became potus prior to Obama. 8% aint got shyt on him. :myman:

That's true. I am voting Republican no matter what. I am not a swing voter. :shaq: :cook:

The bolded is a mindset that never made sense to me.

Lets say Romney gets up there and starts talking about bringing back indentured servitude for blacks, lets say he wants to invade our allies and tax the middle-class at 55%. How are you (or anyone) going to back that type of candidate just because "he's a Republican"?

Now, granted, this is an extreme example but I guess I just don't get the "my party can do no wrong" mentality.
