We're legit the only country where you're encouraged to essentially give the government an interest free loan by overpaying on taxes in order to chase a refund, only to have to jump through hoops to even file, let alone actually file in a way that gets you most of the money you're owed back.

And they make it overtly complicated just to discourage people filing, to make mistakes, and to keep the money coming in for tax-based software companies.

I don’t think there should be income tax at all for the lower half of society. It’s clear the Pentagon doesn’t even tell you where our money goes and has failed every financial audit since it began.

I don’t mind the IRS kicking rocks. I shouldn’t have to pay 20-30% of my check to anybody while rich people and COMPANIES can skate through loopholes. And also because I choose to be single..

It never made sense. Thats why I might just stop paying it altogether and just pay whatever I “owe” at the end of the year through a payment plan. Idk if it’s a good idea but people do it.

My aunt worked for IRS and I asked her for help once when I was younger.. never again. These people took almost 1/3 of my check and she was like “Well… thats the way it is…”
