For me(the kid in question), i would say therapy helped me, but i will say that parents should keep their kids away from ssris/medicating them. I was a highly extroverted person as a teen(adhd) until i was put on zoloft. Became a recluse soon after
How do you know it helped? Bc you were a kid and grew to be a man? That was gon happen anyway lol

@ bolded. That’s exactly where I was going with it but didn’t wanna assume. First comes therapy, then comes diagnosis, then comes medication. All of that is a racket that serves the rx drug industry. There is no such thing as a kid with ADHD. They just want you in the program, a lifelong customer.

This will fukk your kid up more than any punishment
Kids will forget a whipping but they don’t forget labels

Therapy generation doomed by “psychologists” who only goal is to diagnose not fix the issues

Parents gotta rear the child or they will learn from someone else in sometimes worse ways

Yes. Being there alone is a stigma that can last. They aren’t adults there is no ‘oh nooo theory is not bad’. They’re kids, they not gonna understand that.

I’m already hesitant on that ‘everybody needs therapy’ wave, but I’m downright adamant against therapy for kids. No no no no. Unless they’re killing kittens or some shyt, let their personality form, let their path evolve. Putting kids in therapy is our PC culture at work wanting everyone in a box, thinking everyone can/needs to be ‘fixed’.

To me it’s ideas ruling over your child in place of a more spiritual basis

A non believing household basically got to put something else in its place and that is psychology in a nutshell. 1000 years ago they’d be labeled a warlock hexing your kids into perpetual feeling of otherness just cause of something that they could have been talked out of

Folk also misoverstand whoopings, you whoop a child for disrespect not just doing something wrong. That’s the point you can correct wrongs with words but disrespect don’t get fixed with words to me

My father beat me with a belt, stripped me naked, made me stand with my arms out until I couldn’t hold them out anymore…at which point he’d beat me like a slave. My mother once witnessed this happening, after coming home from work, and walked right past the room like she hadn’t seen anything. My father also, spied on me, cornered me and constantly violated my personal space, yelled directly at me, as loudly as he could, while balls of his spit would fly into my face. He’d undermine me, antagonize me, doubt me, talk down to me…and at the end of it all, apologize, and tell me he loved me. Every single time it happened. Let’s just say its been a difficult journey for my mental health.

It helped me give me the tools to handle my emotions. Everytime i see dudes lose it over shyt that in the long run isnt worth it, my mind just goes straight to the therapy i recieved and how thankful i am for it.

I agree tho that meds are to hook you in, thats why i refuse to take them again. I rather find hollistic ways to either cure or accept my issues.

I never put 2 n 2 together, this is so spot on

Which would really explain why I feel that way. Things that were instilled in me/people spiritually, or by a firm household, now you got people needing to be taught separately from that. It seems like taking the long way and reinventing the wheel. Not to say religion or parents are perfect of course

Yeah you could put tai chi in its place and even it would be better. Psychology basically a time bomb until you get labeled and then you try to resonate with other peoples labels rinse repeat

I am lucky to have been raised by a black church environment whom I’m still close to whenever I’m around

That said my mother was military and to this day I know the martial prowess of the black woman :sadcam: these folks already feeling the ewrath but not I
