I don't think you understand. Having the endorsement of an elected official in an opposing party is good when trying to win votes in swing states. It sets up a permission structure for voters who support that official to potentially vote for the candidate in question (in this case, Harris.)So now y’all gonna dikkeat a republicac because he said something you agree with

Part of the reason Biden won Arizona in 2020 is that Cindy McCain, wife of late Senator John McCain endorsed him. The McCains are royalty in Arizona. Plus Trump dissed their hero after he died so that pissed them off and drove some non-Trump Republicans to vote for Biden.
Democrats are pretty much happy when any Republican speaks out against Trump because Democrats and non-Trump Republicans have been begging elected Republicans for years to speak out and people are too shook to do it. At every low Trump moment, they had an opportunity to put the country over party/tribe and instead they did the opposite. Which only emboldened Trump to act in even worse ways during his Presidency. And post Presidency they did the same thing when he said the Constitution should be terminated so he can return to office, and through all of his indictments, which helped provide a cover for his return.

It's newsworthy for a couple of reasons. Take off your cape for MAGA and let's discuss this. Mesa and it's surroundings are going to be important in deciding Arizona in November, a key battleground state... if the mayor is out here campaigning for Kamala, he's likely going to bring in people that otherwise would not have voted for her or just stayed home.
Also, it's not everyday you see a Republican go this far to undermine Trump and the GOP... in the clip he's explaining how far right the party has gone and how it's become unrecognizable. More of these cacs need to follow suit.
