But that could also give Jeffries a chance to win. Which is why they haven't tried it yet. One misstep and we will have a minority speaker of the house :pachaha:
This nation wasn't designed for a minority ruler

To be honest, I am not mad at the Freedom Caucus for this stunt.

For two years we had to watch as Dems tried to beg Manchin and Sinema to get on board with bills, only for them to blow them up and not even negotiate in good faith.

And the pundit class regularly carried water for them by saying, "Manchin and/or Sinema said where they stand. If Dems don't like it, they should have won more seats."

It's literally the exact same thing here: Gaetz, Boebert, et. al all made it abuntantly clear that they are not voting for Kevin McCarthy as Speaker, and have proven that eight times in a row now. And it was Republicans' historic underperformance in the midterms that led to them having this much leverage.

So either McCarthy can sit his ass down or keep getting embarrassed. And for once, it's nice to watch Republicans' futile attempts at scraping for votes from their own party.

So fukk em. :camby:

Yep, that's the underlying comedy of all of this. They literally had two whole years of seeing how this goes, and both sides of the party were arrogant enough to think it wouldn't happen to them, despite literally EVERYTHING indicating that it would.

As Katt Williams said "Shouldn't have been talking shyt."

Democrats should be queueing the attack ads right now. Republicant even govern themselves, why would you want them to govern your lives?
I agree but it's its own attack ad. Whole world watching. Except Fox News. Every person that voted Republican at midterms has to be questioning their vote even if they won't admit it.
