holy shyt. i was not ready for this. what a time brehs...
at anyone hating on this news. old man logan is basically a clint eastwood flick with super powers. most of the characters actually involved are window-dressing. the central conceit is that something broke logan (by making him murder his loved ones), someone pushes logan too far (by murdering the only loved ones he has left), logan fukks shyt up and wanders off into the sunset (with a new loved one). but yeah, let's act like not being able to use mysterio will be what determines if this is good or not.
u need the xmen, cause wolverine kills them all. u need his wife and kids, because they get killed. and they're gonna have to get creative with the main villain/baby payoff. but otherwise, there's literally no other part of the story where a character fox doesn't have rights to is 100% critical. half of the most compelling good guys and bad guys were fukking corpses. and there are plenty of characters to fill-in where actual powersets are needed to move the story along.
hawkeye? fukk hawkeye. who gives a fukk. make cyclops blind instead, and it actually makes the story even more compelling. the last dude logan would probably want to spend his last days with also hates logan's fukking guts because he knows what logan did (and more importantly. knows that logan refuses to seek proper redemption through his actions). so not only are they stuck on the road trip from hell, but every time logan looks at him he's a reminder of everything he lost. doubly ironic since cyclops wouldnt be able to see him. problem solved.
