They'd also better hope that he comes back before the Royal Rumble. If he comes back at, say, Survivor Series, then they have a chance at creating a storyline that both makes the Bryan fans happy and advances their plans for a Reigns/Lesnar WM main event (regardless of how short-sighted such a match may or may not be). A small chance, but a chance nonetheless.
If he doesn't come back until January, and they still push for Reigns (which I will expect them to do), then they're going to have serious problems. People are going to be dying for Bryan to beat Lesnar and get a proper WWE WHC reign and going with Reigns in that scenario will damage him irreparably.

Well at least they got a plan. I remember around Nov of last year complaining about how there was no definitive plans for Mania XXX and being like

" and we almost got Batista vs. Orton in the main event. That was the best plan they could come up with. 
As for Reigns in the main event, I'm pulling for him, as he a lot of potential, but thus far, he's impressed me the least since the Shield break up due to being very protected, but he's got a little over half a year to improve. We'll see.

I'm sure he'll dominate the Rumble. They should bring back a traditional Survivor Series match and let him dominate there as well.

Reigns would have to beat HHH so bad that it would cause The Authority to just sit back and quit meddling with other peoples affairs. Batista came out looking strong. He put HHH on the shelf for awhile. Sheamus looked strong as well (for awhile) when he put HHH on the shelf for 10 months. I don't think people remember, but (in story line) HHH's full time career as a wrestler came to an end because of Sheamus. I think a scenario like that would definitely need to happen with Reigns if he went up against HHH.
Dudes are acting like they didn't see Benoit and Eddie do this to Brock at NWO 04 and Survivor Series 03. Bryan was basically dominating Kane all year before WM and basically beat the shyt out of the Big Show in several matches, as heel, in early 2012.
