Rogan believes that Jackson had "zero fear" of Punk, and could have stopped him at any point in the fight. As a result of Jackson's showboating, Dana White has kicked him out of the company, and said that he will never fight in the UFC again, despite winning the fight. Rogan feels that if Jackson would have stopped the match earlier, he would have still been fighting in the UFC. Rogan thinks everything about CM Punk in the fight was weird.

"The whole thing was very weird," said Rogan. Like, right away, when you see CM Punk holding his hands up and moving stiff and throwing kicks, [I'm like], 'oh Jesus.' Like, I don't like that being on pay-per-view. I understand that they are selling pay-per-view cards, but pay-per-view in the UFC should be the elite fighters."

Instead of Punk vs. Jackson, Rogan felt that Alistair Overeem vs. Curtis Blaydes should have been on the main card. In addition, he felt that Punk's sparring videos were "crazy," and "it was like a guy you just showed how to spar."

He added, "it's like you took a dude [with] no wrestling background, no nothing, and you go, 'alright, this is what I want you to do. This is a jab. This is a right hand. When you throw a kick, I want you to pivot your hips. Go in there and spar. I mean, he just doesn't have the ability to move his body right. There's a lot of guys that you could take out there—track and field guys, or football players, and you could get them to fight better than him in a couple of weeks. Easily. Because they're athletes. They're athletes. They would understand how to shift their weight, [and] throw a punch... he doesn't have any talent. That's all it is. He just doesn't have any physical talent. For whatever reason. Whether it's his approach, his intensity. It's not his coaching. He's with Duke f--kin Roufus."

I think this has more to do with no Conor, Rousey, GSP, etc...

Even I knew that Punk's UFC drawing power was little to none

Yeah, you couldn't sell Punk even as a freakshow because he lost so badly and he refused to play up his pro wrestling persona.

I think Conor will be back. They're going to do whatever it takes to get Jon Jones back again. This is really early to say, but I think they're going to do everything they can to make Greg Hardy a star. That kind of power and athleticism is incredibly rare in MMA. That's why they pushed Ngannou so hard.

Mike Jackson was dumb not to finish that fight. He's not very good himself and fighters as bad as CM Punk don't come around very often especially with the fanfare .He could've scored a great highlight and made a name for himself if he knocked out CM Punk.

the first one wasn't even a big draw to begin with :yeshrug:

UFC 203 only had 450,000 buys which according to UFC's buy rate history would be ranked around #70 of all time on the buy rate list (and this list currently doesn't include 2018 PPV's which would rank it even lower)

Pay Per View Buys | Tapology
UFC 203 - Wikipedia

so yea the first one definitely drew a better buy rate than this last one, but it's not like Punk was drawing Lesnar and Rousey numbers.

He tried to drag it out and treat him like he was his personal bytch which was corny

I even saw a video where they claim he had punk in a hold and was "tickling punk"

Punk really should've been in the spot that Hardy was in. Proving himself to get a UFC contract. I'd get my ass kicked in a UFC Octagon for sure, but I saw Punk attempt those takedowns and not power thru at ALL...and I cringed. Like I feel like though the first fight was more immediately embarrassing, this one was worse.

Anywho, let Punk fight the Green Ranger in Bellator or something. Its literally the only fukkery i'd be down for when it comes to Punk.

Koalabama and the Cosmos
  • UFC lacking star power
  • Punk lolz not really much of a draw except for those that want to see a live trainwreck
  • Arrogant Dana being stuck in the past with boring production for the events (no special entrances, bland commentary, etc)
  • Mcgreggor having Dana by the balls
  • Scripted bullshyt fights with old dinosaurs that are way past their prime (yet Bellator gets shytted on :francis:)
Bottom line, it's a mess MMA wise and it's starting to show with these meh buyrates and the core fanbase just slowly giving up on the promotion.

Have a PPV in America with only 1 North American in the 2 main fights. Have the most well known fighter on the card fight in the prelims and then wonder why it cannot even hit 200k, let alone 300k which should be a minimum for the PPV fight business.

Overeem would have pushed them over 200k buys? Gtfo here breh

If anything I do agree Overeem should have fought on the card and Holm bumped to prelim. But I dont think it would have made a huge difference.

I dont think the CM Punk was promoted much at all, ultimately for good reason I guess.

As a fan I thought this was a tremendous card on paper but I can see where some of the casuals passed. All good matches but no marquee one.

He was clowning around doing bolo punches and missing on purpose. He should've been about business like Mickey Gall was especially since Dana apparently doesn't like him. Toying around with Punk meant nothing it wasn't like he was Anderson Silva showboating against another elite guy. He knew people called him a can if he was about the fight he could've scored a quick KO and been bought up favorably, now people are calling this fight the worst/weirdest/ most pathetic PPV fight.

The Green Ranger fought at heavyweight, is 3-0 as an amateur and 1-0 as a pro. He would maul Punk to death.

Punk should be fighting people with zero experience. Scott Coker will do anything for ratings so I wouldn't be surprised if they brought him in.

He absolutely would destroy him. I knew his record, I did NOT know his weight class. I feel like Bellator is enough of a freak show where they'd find a way. Punk shouldn't be fighting in ANY company with a name...but here we are.
