They don't see it, because they have chosen a side and refuse to look outside of the blinders their side gives them. If they actually looked at it all through a dispassionate lense, without the filter their side places on their search for the truth, they would see a lot of things differently. They would realize the game that is being played, that others have tried to warn them about.
As long as they are a fanatic for a particular side, then only an extraordinary betrayal by their own side will cause them to rethink their position.

I believe they have Cognitive Dissonance and just don't wanna SEE. Cause the reality is far worse than the illusion.
Malcolm X and Dr King, Jr realized this towards the end of their lives which is why King wanted to unite poor whites and to work with all races to basically topple the USA govt.
Sometimes it is better to just organize with those who understand, and allow your results to draw in others who learn better later. I don't expect true believers in team blue or red to understand the need to decouple our issues from any particular political party, because too many times their whole identity is tied into said party they have chosen. It is almost like a team sport to them, where they will support what their side does no matter what. You can't break through to that sort of mindset with words. Only actions and results have a chance of getting through that wall.
So even though I know my words will not change minds for those already set in their ways, they may plant seeds for those still seeking to find answers for a better way forward.

Yea, and the system made sure they were removed some way or some how post haste for it. It is why I am a firm believer we should not seek singular leaders, but instead create organizations and operating procedures. The leader is not important, the organization and program are what is important. You can kill the leader, but it is a lot harder to kill an ideology.
