Relatively low pay compared to what the league and team owners make :stopitslime: Low pay compared to what NBA, MLB, NHL and damn near every other professional athletes make.

Non guaranteed contracts, brain trauma, average lifespan is 55, yeah sounds like a great sport :camby:

receipts for all of it

Hold up, you didn't know this? :mjlol:
“Growing evidence demonstrates that both the lifespan and quality of life of NFL players is significantly reduced,” Dr. Lee Nadler of Harvard University explained after his school received a $100 million pledge from the NFL Players Association earlier this year. “Whereas white males live to 78 years and African-American males live to approximately 70 years, it appears that professional football players in both the United States and Canada have life expectancies in the mid to late 50’s.”

Well, I didn't bring up the conversation -- technically it was YOU comparing them. I just responded.

But at this point, it is EASY to project the fact that Randle is never going to be a plus defender. Just as it's easy to project that he's going to be a very good rebounder.

Those between his lack of length (standing reach specifically) and his lack of explosiveness... he's never going to be able to consistently challenge or alter shots.

I like Randle, I think he can be a really useful player. Definitely starter quality, tenacious rebounder... could be tough from the mid post, and be strong in an offense that gets him into open space.

But rookie or not, he's simply not as skilled as an 18 year old Odom was, let alone rookie, or mid-career. There's no shame in that, few players have been.

DEFENSE IS LEARNED .. HE HAS THE PHYSICAL TOOLS. MY ONLY COMPARISON TO ODOM WAS THAT HE CAN BRING THE BALL UP THE COURT AT 6'9" WHILE ALSO BANGIN DOWN LOW.. OTHER THAN THAT, THEY EXCEL IN DIFFERENT FACETS.

No, he doesn't. He's too short, his vertical reach is short, doesn't move side to side well, and he's not all that explosive. :yeshrug:

You're not gonna post the quote, though?

"As of right now I'm more comfortable with the 4 position," he told interviewer Nancy Lieberman. "That's where I played previously, before getting drafted, at Duke. I played a lot of 4. Even in high school. I know this is a different level.

"But in coach's style of play, it's more a stretch 4. That's where I like to play my game, even though I like to post up a little. Just being on the perimeter, setting screens and popping, that's what we've been doing so far. That's what coach Kidd has been anticipating me playing that role."

:deadmanny:

He's a 4 the way Melo is a 4 -- in that he ISN'T, but that's the best place for him to go offensively, because he has SF size, but not the raw athleticism or the handles. I actually think that's his best place to play, to create the most mismatches... but let's not get silly.

Look at you using an article from 2 years ago, and not even using the quote... which clearly showed him talking about where his game was, not where it was going... AND you're using old articles, when you can just watch him play, and see where he operates.

Kids these days, man.

Watch a few bucks games, watch him play... then come talk to me. Don't waste my time.

Dude stop. The man said he is a PF. He's listed as a PF on every credible site. He's logged the majority of his minutes. He's a PF. End of discussion. Take the L

So is this the opinion of Laker fans? Besides Full, I doubt that there are many Laker fans who believe this. It's the nickname that got haters panties in a bunch. Just let young Barklonedolph be. He may not be a stout rim protector of a Jabari Parker, but who is?:francis:
