Pizza hut imma say about 2000- 2001. They started switching the recipe up and Papa John's was gaining some traction with better quality. By the 2010s mom and pop type pizza spots became a big trend and pizza hut never recovered.

Facts. When that “real ingredients, real pizza” shyt Papa Johns was on made Pizza Hut start to do some strange things.

Instead of holding their ground, they began this weird transition that like you said they never recovered from.

I was about 4 years old, 2001, me and my mom visited one of her homegirls and her husband and kid and they ordered some pizza, that might’ve been my first experience with Pizza Hut idk, but I still remember the taste of that pizza til this day, it was such a distinct taste and I haven’t been able to find a pizza that tasted like that since.

I’ve had great pizza since obviously but it was just something unique about that taste of that pizza

We used to go for dinner. They had the lights set really low to set the ambiance. The arcade and the jukebox was towards the front. If mom was in a good mood after we finished, we'd hit the Blockbuster that was a block over.
