Remember when NFL franchises went out of their way to say they aren't interested in Lamar Jackson

His passing really has improved
Yeah he needed a different OC to grow with versus G Ro.

Look at G Ro with Chargers and I can tell Herbert ain't too happy. He not a good fit for a pocket passer and his schemes start out good but gets figured out and he fails to adjust properly.

ATL to MEM
You aren’t telling the full story.

He wasn’t a true free agent, he was tagged with the non exclusive franchise tag. That means he could negotiate with other teams but there are a lot of caveats…….

- The Ravens could match the contract

- If the Ravens didn’t match you would need to tender them 2 first round picks.

- If you offered a contact, that money was on your books throughout the 5 day window. That means you didn’t have money available to offer anyone else, and then at the end of that 5 day window the Ravens could still match. At that point you are screwed.

- Here is the big one……..the entire ordeal was about Deshaun Watsons guaranteed contract. The other owners were pissed at the Browns for giving one to Watson so they decided they weren’t going to confirm that precedent by giving one to Jackson. No owner was going to give Jackson what he wanted, so in the end he was only negotiating with the Ravens even though you could technically say he was a “free agent”.

-From the owner's POV, winning isn't the #1 priority
-Entertainment, the business component supersedes the sport of football
-NFL Franchise owners did what they felt was best for the longevity of the shield lol

Fans care about winning, and owners care about revenue.

Watson got a multi-year fully guaranteed contract; Lamar following would've set a precedent.

TYRONE GA!
I still cant figure out if it was just blatant racism or teams colluding with the Ravens so they wouldn't set a precedent of star QB's forcing their way out. Im thinking its a combo of both.
100% both.

Other teams didn't wanna set that precedent of giving QBs fully guaranteed deals like Nasty Man got so the owners colluded to make sure Lamar didn't get one - a person who damn sure would deserve it. Funny thing is Dak's contract extension is damn near fully guaranteed so what's the fukkin point.

Commanders look like they made the right decision but everyone else on that list took an L.

Roman really did halt his development as a qb
