they used to have this spot called "Grand Prix Race-O-Rama" near Ft Lauderdale FL. shyt had mini-golf, go-carts, and a HUGE arcade. they had some night where you could play unlimited games for like $10 or some shyt. I was already a little older at the time, and me and my peeps would get all fuct up and just have fun playing the games. but I remember there was always a few knucklehead teenagers fights poppin off every night. there were cops and security there, but that didn't stop themAnyone have a putt putt golf (arcade) or a malibu in their city? Malibu had them ridges on these quarters so you had to buy their shyt to play.
Plus they have that race track and a nikka had his own L's
The one in Portland I think you're talking about is the adult one downtown you can drink at it. The other one is the nickel arcade I believeThey're popping up all over LA. There's one in Portland that I plan on visiting this fall. They said that the hardest part of keeping things going is the lack of parts to keep the machines going. It's all outdated technology and companies don't make it much anymore.
I'd love to open one in the DC area
Do you all remember the bootleg SFII cabinets? This store in the hood had the "Rainbow Edition" where you could sit in mid air and just throw projectiles.

I feel sorry for you young cats who were not around to witness that. . I was right there and did not fully understand the greatness. I still remember the OG Street Fighter. Had rubber pads that you would hit. The harder you hit the harder Ryu laid out the beats. My uncle Dove owned a arcade in swifton commons in Cincinnati I cut my teeth on gaming back than and yeah mostly all that was around were dope boys...
When I became a little hustler myself I used to spend my time at this place called Nicks in Bond Hill and that was when Inwas introduced to Street Fighter 2 which had to be the greatest Arcade movement ever
So yeah arcades I was around was always full of street dudes and hoodrats police wouldn't even come in they'd stand outside
before Street Fighter it was Karate Champ
