Recording Mighty Morphin power rangers I remember my mom recording Home Alone 2 for me when it debut on HBO. Used to wear the tape out lol. Soul Train Award shows, sporting events, Raw is war and Nitro, MTV MJ marathons. What kind of stuff did y’all used to record. Do you still have the tapes?

EP, LP, SLP I got tapes up at my parents with just about everything. Rap city, all of Jordan's WGN games. Xmen and a bunch of Saturday morning cartoons.

Did you digitize the footage?

I was in the process of digitizing the footage, when I saw just about everything I recorded appear on youtube.

My crown jewel was BDP debuting the songs from By All Means Necessary at a NYE party on VMB.

Once I saw that on youtube, it discouraged me about my collection.


Still have some rare stuff that hasn't surfaced online yet, rappers on talk shows, full version of the first televised Source Awards,etc

We used to record commercials until we discovered the record pause button. Once we found that we cut out them commercials

Started out recording Tyson fights for my uncle when he went out to go watch at the bars and I was always confused cause he was one of the few cats that paid for PPV and could have seen it at home.

Had multiple VHS tapes with all his short ass fights from the ring walk to when they peaced out.

Learnt how to dub (record from one tape to another) tapes and used to go to the video store and just record whatever shyt I liked instead of saving up money to rent tapes over and over again.

Used to record whole Saturday morning blocks of cartoons cause my Mom's was one of them crazy type broads who'd record all them fukk ass soap operas during the day so the TV was basically untouchable. Had my Grandpops like in his own house cause he had to watch Gunsmoke and Bonanza on the small little dial control tv we had before we got that 20 inch CRT.

Graduated from recording Ninja Turtles, Voltron and Prince Valiant to recording softcore latenight to sell to my older cousins and friends until I graduated to dubbing straight up Porn after I realized that I could get ahead of the game and offer content nobody else has, cause there was mad folk dubbing softcore in school.....and my stupid ass was literally sitting on Dozens of hardcore porn (that grew by the week) with two VCRs and a stack of blank tapes next to me.


Innocence lawst....profit gained.

I'm watching one now from 1997. Everything from Raw & Nitro to Mad TV. I captured them to my external hard drive for backup in case the tapes mess up.
