That seems like a large theological discrepancy.

I know thats the thing.
The division between the religions are primarily surrounded on the mindset toward Jesus.
The Jews didnt accept him as the Messiah which brought forth the separation between Judaism and Christianity. Then Muhammed came some centuries later with the Quran in hand came with his own revelations which brought forth Islam :skip:
Its all fukked up

The common thread though is the God of the Old Testament which all three faiths recognize and accept

Atheists?

why not if they lived righteous lives....:manny: religion is there as guidelines to help us live a better more productive life. And because of humanities INHERENT lack of compassion the lack of understanding between religions is understandable....

Still, atheists don't bother me its the fact that atheists are like vegans and have to let everyone know that they are atheists at every turn even when it doesnt apply.

*sitting watching the game*
You: OH MY GOD! That was a terrible call
Atheist homie: Your "god" had nothing to do with the referee's ineptitude...
You: :snoop:

RELIGIOUS PEOPLE NEVER INVOLVE THEIR BELIEFS WITH ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES, BROTHER! :troll:

not the same...many religious people feel like their God gives them fortitude and strength physical and mental. Not literally, but in a more metaphysical sense. To thank one's god isn't the same as what i posted.

IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME THING, BROTHER! BRINGING UP YOUR PERSONAL BELIEFS WHEN EVERYBODY DOESN'T SHARE THEM AND MANY PEOPLE ARE MILDLY IRRITATED BY YOUR OBSESSION WITH THEM, DUDE! IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL TO THE HULKSTER, BUT YOU SAID IT BOTHERS YOU AND YET YOU'LL MAKE EXCUSES FOR YOUR OWN, MEAN GENE!

Brolic... Alcoholics
If a dude cant get accept beliefs that go against his own then somebody needs to grow up

This right here. I'm not really religious. But I don't knock those that are. One of the TAs at school is a pretty devout Christian. We're in class one day and somehow we end up talking about religion. I politely tell her that I don't think this is the correct forum to really discuss it. And she nearly but my head algal king about, "there is only one true God and there is only one holy trinity". I just backed down and left the conversation alone.

Now I know there's A LOT of ignant muhfukkas up in HL. :comeon:
People who think all religious people wanna kill everybody, even though they work with, sit next to on the train, talk to, are family members of, etc to religious people who clearly aren't trying to kill them.

But that doesn't change the fact there is a lot of hostility towards people with different beliefs. Why is that?

Especially among the Abrahamic faiths. I had the pleasure (cough, cough) and reading the posts of a gentleman who thinks Jews, Christians and Muslims don't worship the same God. Like, his brain simply couldn't comprehend that. Now I'm not excusing this nameless idiot's idiocy, but yall sure don't make it easy for morons like him.

If you're worshiping the same God but in different ways, why is it imperative that the next man worship exactly like you?

To quote my man Lupe: "The books that take you to heaven and let you meet the Lord there, have become misinterpreted reasons for warfare..."

And I'm not talking about any individuals in here (although I have seen a little bit of it here), but just in general. I understand a lot of it is politics globally. But for my religious brehs, how do you feel about other religious folks who don't believe exactly as you do. And what makes you right and them wrong?

But it seems that people are morons because they don't believe what you believe? You obviously believe that at it's core all religions basically believe the same thing but express it in different ways. Which you have the right to. However, if you look at the religious text of those 3 you named can you conclude that? I don't see how someone could. To me, that's like saying basketball, baseball, are basically the same because they have a ball. Sure all 3 have a Diety in them, created man, rules, punishment.

But who this Diety is, is not the same. In Christianity, Jesus is God. In Islam, Jesus is a great prophet but ultimately a human. How can they both be expressing this religion in different ways, when one clearly says Jesus is God or God's Son. And the other says, if you believe that Jesus is Allah, you're going to hell? Now, they could both be wrong. But they can't both be right. The stakes are too high if one of them is right in their truth claims. Wrong belief and you're going to hell.

I agree that they're not the same. That said -

Yeah, if that's your main motivation, that's probably a miserable life.
