46% of Americans believe in the literal creation myth of man as told in the book of genesis.

So he's not alone and you shouldn't be bothered by someone else's stupidity.

Just igg it and let him do him.............(the people who do accept human evolution like Chemist, doctors and those who create our life saving medicines and technology are the ones who need to know this info, as long as these important people aren't subscribing to religious mumble jumble then this man's ignorance won't affect you)

and try your best to raise your own kids to be scientifically literate and not to be as retarded as most of America.

The paradoxical thing about this thread, is on another forum someone is posting the complete opposite argument.

One interestingly bizarre matter to consider, revolves the chance of one of these two scenarios being correct :mindblown:

Care to elaborate on why they call it "theory" and not a "fact"? Oh great enlightened one?:obama3:

A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of knowledge that has been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment.[1][2] Scientists create scientific theories from hypotheses that have been corroborated through the scientific method, then gather evidence to test their accuracy. As with all forms of scientific knowledge, scientific theories are inductive in nature and do not make apodictic propositions; instead, they aim for predictive and explanatory force.[3][4]

The strength of a scientific theory is related to the diversity of phenomena it can explain, which is measured by its ability to make falsifiable predictions with respect to those phenomena. Theories are improved as more evidence is gathered, so that accuracy in prediction improves over time. Scientists use theories as a foundation to gain further scientific knowledge, as well as to accomplish goals such as inventing technology or curing disease.
Scientific theories are the most reliable, rigorous, and comprehensive form of scientific knowledge.[3] This is significantly different from the word "theory" in common usage, which implies that something is unsubstantiated or speculative.

Scientific theory is not based on fact. It is based off "well-confirmed hypothesis that explains a large body of facts/opinions and which has inspired a large body of research". Which means it is subject to change at anytime

In science 'fact' is an objective and verifiable observation.

Which means a scientific fact is never subject to change but theory is.....
