Yeah basically they had too many calls at the LOS and weren’t getting lined up for a team that ran more tempo. He also threw some hints at Knowles not making the right calls against ND. Their few big plays shouldn’t have happened.

He wanted a veteran defensive play caller who can call multiple defenses. The most obvious path is that he’ll be here for a year or two before Matt G takes over full time. This also allows continuity on defense because the rest of the staff will still be there (unless Larry Johnson changes his mind and retires).
