I doubt it.

I don't think the musicians exist for that to happen.

You have whole generations of kids who can't sing, dance (well), play instruments, or even rap (well).

We used to have the church grooming waves of Black musicians, but not anymore.

You are looking at the mainstream though and judging from that

That is why I said the southern soul music scene because that scene has some of the better singers

The musicians are ALWAYS somewhere out there for it to happen. Look at someone like H.E.R who is a talented prodigy who has gotten a lot of attention in the past year especially after her BET performance and had people like Janet Jackson going out their way to attend her show...Janet Jackson

The question is the labels, are there black labels out there ready to promote this and will we support it? That is the question and in times like this we should theoretically be on more of the same page

Its people like Pharell who are fukking things up

Its several people. TI has been on his woke wave for a couple years ever since he realized the mistake he made with promoting Iggy, because he knows there was probably some unknown very talented female atlanta rappers he didn't put on

that goes for other people with some clout in the industry who know of great singers behind the scenes they don't put on...

if you go on youtube you'll see a ton of young musical beasts from the black church whether it be from singing, organ-piano, guitar, bass or drums that be having me:damn:i'll say the best black modern musicians (outside of jazz) are mainly in the modern gospel/worship music scene

Gospel's always produced our best pop musicians, for the most part. That definitely don't surprise me.

true from a vocal standpoint but today they're on the level of jazz musicians when it comes to virtuosity/musicianship

I love drummers more than anything else and that CJ Thompson dude is serious. Complete independence has always got me.
