This is where this gets tricky. It does take time for paperwork to be done, focus groups for new branding, etc, that would likely take into 2021 to complete. But if everybody "suddenly" agrees it's racist now, what happens in the meantime? This same brigade is gonna be cool with them holding the racist name a whole nother year because "that's business"? If it's as serious as it's supposed to be, then they should be pressed to do it immediately. If it's not necessary to do it immediately, why is it necessary at all?

Nah I agree the logistics is gonna be a mess that's why I feel like next year is realistically the earliest the could change it. For now they can probably at least get away with a commitment to change it by x date to hold the angry mob off.

That's where the disconnect for me is with these "movements". Folks are still willing to accept excuses based on the construct of this system instead of saying fukk waiting on this broke ass system and demanding immediate action. They're more satisfied with hearing themselves talk than actual changes being made and only want change that keeps the system intact. Not saying this is even in the top 300 issues that need to get pressed like that, but yeah
