most MC's still like Em because he is very technical and excels a lot of aspects of MC'ing - flow, multis, punchlines, storytelling etc.

Its common knowledge that hardly anyone that posts on the coli is interested in the "technical" aspect of rapping, hence why Em gets so much hate here

All I'm saying is that Biggie, NaS, Jay and you can throw in Tupac speak to the Black America experience there for their music will connect with that experience. Music is universal so I will never tell any race they can't "Enjoy" Hip hop cause they can obviously. But that experience is what Hip Hop is truly about. I've never denied Em's skills, I know he's dope. But that don't make you the GOAT. IMO, Em's best Classic fails in comparison to the others best albums. His catalog is decent but i wouldn't put it over NaS or Jay. Of course both Biggie albums are better than anything he dropped. Tupac's Best 3 albums are better than Em's

Rakim got 3 LP's better than his whole catalog. Em has had success and he earned his respect cause he obviously could rap and wasn't no Vanilla Ice. All the stats will say he should be the greatest of all time. Sales, Awards etc. But Hip Hop comes from a place of black pain and struggle. Nothing will ever change that no matter how expansive the Genre has gotten. Where do I rank him personally? There can be made a case for Top 20 overall. Some may have him higher just based on technical skill.

He definitely is the GOAT White rapper, lol (Which isn't a long list anyway). He did change the game form a White perspective of telling the "Poor" White experience. That's why I'm not shocked a large number of Em's fanbase don't even mess with Rap like that. I've met plenty of people that say, "I don't listen to rap but I like Eminem". I'll give him those first 3 LP's cause they were solid. His last 4 LP's were average to weak. Now NaS and Jay dropped some lackluster albums too. But their best albums are better than Em. I've listened to his entire catalog so I've done my research. Here's how I rate Em's catalog:

SSLP - 4.5 MICS
MMLP - 5 MICS
TES - 4 MICS
E - 2 MICS
R - 3.5 MICS
R - 3 MICS
MMLP 2 - 3 MICS

Nas - ILLMatic, STILLmatic, It Was Written > SSLP MMLP TES
Biggie - RTD, LAD > SSLP MMLP TES
Jay Z - RD, Blueprint, TBA > SSLP MMLP TES
Tupac - MATW, AEOM, MAK > SSLP MMLP TES
Rakim - PIF, LTFHY, DSTT > SSLP MMLP TES
hey you dont have to explain it to me. I'm black. so i know the experience they spoke on. my point was simple. if you're going to use black experience to mean hiphop. then Slim shady is out of the running period for top or bottom anything. but if we're not going to use black experience to = hiphop. then Slim has to be up there. wayyy up there. thats all i was saying.

Eminem can not convey the black experience in America which is the core of what Hip Hop is and why it was created. I don't think anyone questions his skill level but If "MMLP" is Eminem's "Classic" then he loses by a landslide to "Ready To Die, ILLmatic and Reasonable Doubt". Eminem has given Redman constant props cause Redman obviously influenced his style (Even though plenty of Em's fans never even brought a Redman album in their life). Everyone has an opinion but take this debate to the streets and Eminem loses every single time.

hey if you're going to say it like this. then of course you're right. if its hiphop = the black experience. then sorry EM. you're last place. but if we're talking about skill level. he's on par with the greats. i just call it like i see it.

Championships are a team accomplishment.

Stockton is an all-time top 5-10 point guard.

The only thing he has in common with Eminem is that they're white.
