The fact that they went full steam ahead and sent this game to die in the state it's released in is alarming. What's the point of releasing this? It saves nothing it doesn't sound like it's impressing anyone. Honestly they'd be better off canceling it or pushing it back and trying to salvage it. Putting it out and it's a 4/10 or whatever is not worth bothering with.

I think it's more just to say that they released something, honestly. The one stark comparison point is just volume of notable exclusives. Not all of them are great, or even good, but they're still there. I think this is more about trying to establish a release cadence more than anything.

Netflix cancels shows every season now, will be interesting to see how Microsoft handles studios that don’t put out critically acclaimed games or ones that don’t get a lot of action on gp
Netflix has a business model where they're incentivized to cancel shows. Their goal is to make as many shows as they can with an upfront cheaper price and if one becomes a breakout success hold on to it. Their business model is throwing shyt at a wall and seeing what sticks. People clearly don't mind because there's always something new to watch.

Microsoft needs more quality work than that. They should have stepped in and said "hey this can't be released this way either fix it or we're scrapping it."

I don't think you can really blame Microsoft for this, aside from just not delaying the game again. Prey came out in 2017, and the Mooncrash expanding was 2018. They've been working on this for a while, even before Microsoft purchased them as part of Zenimax. This is mostly on them.

Really the only thing you can put at Microsoft's feet is that it feels like this is being published before it's truly ready so that their entire calendar doesn't rest completely on Starfield, and hoping that Forza makes it out this year.
I read that Microsoft made them scrap the PlayStation version. This is Microsoft fault tryna rush out these exclusives.

With how the year has been going for Xbox so far, I would be surprise if they dont shut down a studio or two.

We need to have a serious conversation on gaming developers and companies putting out half finished games and being predatory.
There is no conversation to be had. When have they ever been punished for it? Most people aren’t patient enough to wait and see.
