This is probably more common than people realize. 2nd cousins are usually where people traditionally consider them folks family.

I legit have no clue who my 3rd cousins are as we don’t interact with any folks on that branch of the tree and never have.

My family on my dad's side is from Lincolnton Georgia but the family is so large me and cousin used to joke that we couldn's smash anyone within a 10 mile radius because they were probably a cousin.
