Your capping nobody gave those guys anything but a documentary. Miracle at st Anna was disrespectful asf, and trash. Spike Lee was and is overrated and past his prime. He couldn't pull off a war movie either. Stupid ass plot points like making the two brehs fight over a girl a random white girl. No other war movie did that. Spike lee had no respect for the soldiers and it showed.

Red tails needed either an assemble or a main character that can carry it. Nate Parker was never a star, a promising actor but not talented.

Hollywood doesn't have enough young black male actors to make an assemble cast. For a WW1 or a Ww2 movie.

Miracle at st Anna was based on a book of the same name.. and that's the problem with the movie IMO, he follows too closely to the source material instead of using his own intuition the way he did with Clockers and Malcolm X which were heavy based on outside source material, but he added his own shyt to those movies to make them great... The "plot points" you have issues with were in the book as well, and the guy who wrote the book was the screenwriter on the film [he's worked with Lee on a few other films afterwards and wrote the John Brown miniseries that aired on showtime not too long ago.]

How can you be a "promising" actor but not a talented? Make sense. :mjlol:

Saving Private Ryan wasn't full of big name "young" actors... the leads in the movie were Hanks, Sizemore, Damon [who only appears at the end of the film]. Most of the other guys in the film outside of Matt Damon weren't really popular at that time...Vin Diesel, Barry Pepper, Jeremy Davies, Paul Giamatti, etc. They are more known NOW than they were then. Ted Danson at that point was the biggest actor to pop up in the movie outside of Hanks... Hell even Heisenberg was only known for his appearances on Seinfeld at this point when he did this flick.

Book was trash then. Saving Private Ryan had a more believable ww2 environment, damn the budget. Who ever wrote miracle at st anna was influenced by black dysfunction. Because that's all I remember from that stupid movie. That and when the unit finally got into combat in the end, they lost... so what was so special about them? Why make a movie about that? You had the Tuskegee airmen and the Harlem hellfighters, but nah we got a group of undisciplined nikkas fighting over the 1st p*ssy they come across and the shyt was stupid. The movie was just more look at how pathetic black men are propaganda.

Don't compare Spike Lee to Steven Spielberg. Steven Spielberg can bring out the best of his actors and make everyone on the set perform to high standards. Spike lee would rather cast himself then give a young black man a opportunity.

There is a difference between being an actor and a star. Tom Holland is just an actor nobody give a fukk about him. His movies aren't his. Nobody goes to see a movie because of Tom Holland. They want to see spiderman.

Dave Chappelle is a star. People will see anything Dave Chappelle is in. Because Dave Chappelle is talented.

Jake Logan is a star, Ronda Rousey is a star. Chris Pratt is an actor.

They tried to make fast and furious with historical airplanes. terrible concept.
The story deserves an band of brothers type of approach. was kinda insulting actually.
HBO version >>>>

IIRC, a couple of the real Airmen weren't too hot on the way they were portrayed. They said they had way more discipline and class, and that a few of the things that were seen (I never saw it) would have gotten them reprimanded or worse.

Michael Jordan's character was allowed to fly with a busted eye due to his superior covering for him iirc.
