I don't know what it is about this game that just doesn't hook me.
The graphics are great, the gameplay is fun, but something about going from point a to b doing essentially the same thing over and over again isn't working for me.
I picked up the Onimusha remaster and played that for 4 hours straight and it felt like an hour.
I've played the hell out of Pokemon Lets go Pikachu (I think I'm 30 hours in at this point if I recall correctly).
Smash Bros Ultimate I played every single day until I unlocked every character.
God of War I played every single day at least an hour a night until I beat the game.
I'm definitely playing games regularly, but something about RDR2 is off for me. I find myself trying to "psych myself up" just to play the game.

She was hands down my favorite character in the entire game.

That...and now that I think of it a little more, there's a lot of content in RDR2 that is pretty inconsequential to the main game.
Hunting, fishing, random bounties, etc. are cool and add to the "life" of the game overall, but those things don't really lead to anything other than moderately interesting moments.

Yup.

It's truly been a therapeutic experience for me.

I legit don't even run around in third person; I walk around just for the immersion and when I want to run, I switch to first person.

Seeing Arthur run around at high speed for no reason looks weird.

I understand completely why most don't like the pace...I want more games like this.

Therapeutic is the key word here. Hunting, exploring, slowly trotting alongside a river on horseback, admiring a view from a high up spot etc. are incredibly therapeutic in RDR2. Some people just wont get it.

I get it, With a illegitimate son, illiterate wife, and a freeloading geezer to support sometimes I just pack up and go on a 2-3 day trip. I rent a room in Valentine or Strawberry and go hunting.
