Not done reading through the thread and never checked it until recently cus I was too busy playing the game. That said, I'm sure others have similar stories but I haven't seen them mentioned yet so....
Anyone run into a thunder/lighting storm yet? BUT I mean run into when you weren't expecting it? Like I was rolling up on a camp with smoke in the sky and then all of a sudden KABOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM and a big ass shot of lighting came down and thought my earphones was gonna rumble off my damn head, I even yelled out OH shyt and then laughed at myself hahaha the weather is crazy, like the huge rain storms, or when it gets so damn misty/foggy you cant see your hand in front of your face that shyts crazy...
The reason the game feels so alive is because it is. Most of the events aren't scripted, especially the animal ones out in the wild, which makes for unpredictable encounters just like in real life. Like I was down by the river following a trail to a waypoint, slow up to see if there's anything to shoot and hear this loud ass BAKAWWWWW type shriek, and im like shieeeeetttttt that's got to be a bird of prey of some kind, so I go to scan the sky with eagle eye...no damn need this bird swoops down out the air to grab a fish in front of me, even slowed down like he was in slow mo, popped that dead eye, pulled out the Bow and shot myself a Bald Eagle! But dynamic events that are self triggered like that, happen if your around or not, which is why the game feels alive.
Ran up on a camp of O'Driscolls talking about a robbery. Mask up, dual wield black hand of death and my other revolover black beauty, and get to clapping. I've robbed a ton of these damn camps and never had this happen, but I shot either a lantern or oil or something and next thing I know a tent was on fire, so I'm like shyt let me get to looting before that spreads...man that whole damn camp went up in seconds, I was like wtf I want some loot! Waited for the fire to die down, and then couldn't even loot them cus they were burned up!
Also, shoot and skin everything. If you ever notice, your dead eye meter goes up for all of it, just one point, but basically anytime you skin or pluck or pick up an animal you get a dead eye point. EDIT - by goes up I mean it puts points towards reaching the next level of dead eye.
