Nobody truly wants the cookie cutter life, but when you need healthcare amongst other things, (material items) most people end up settling. It's not an easy life and I will advise anyone against it if asked.

It's a tough realization when you are living that young, wild, and free lifestyle. I missed my schedule from my college days, when going to class was like my job. So what can I do to get a schedule like that as a career? Teach college. I have the education and experience to land a gig at a community college, and I plan to go get my phd in a few years. Sure I will have to work a few extra hours a day grading, creating lesson plans, and having office hours, but I know I can handle that.

i have also been thinking about this. and on top of this who knows you might smash some desprate college broads who want that A plus ya dig :obama:

but the problem for me is idk wtf i would teach:yeshrug:

Well if you got a bachelor's, just go back to school and get a graduate degree in what you majored in as an undergrad. I'm a criminal justice major, got a master's degree in the field. I was also a teaching assistant in grad school, which allowed me to get experience teaching while still a student. If you go back to school and want to teach that is a good way to get experience.

Agree with this thread, my goal is to be able to travel (a 5 day trip) every month, to somewhere new. Once I accomplish that the 9-5 will b worth it, and the side hustling

Until then the 9-5 is :sadcam:

probation officer? wouldn't you have to deal with a lot of fukked up kids from broken homes and mental issues? if you have trouble dealing with a 9-5, you're gonna have lots of trouble dealing with these kids. but good luck to you.

Its not all bad. I've done it. It is a lot of hard work but its rewarding.(sometimes) However, its a job you can get tired of real quickly. My advice would be if you do juvenile probation, make five years your limit and move on to something else. Experience goes a long way and once you reach five years more jobs tend to open up.

The guy that created the 401k planned said he's best advise is to stay healthy enough to keep working well past 60, bcuz your retirement will either not be there or insufficient.

:snoop: Why do nikkas refuse to grow up...

What is growing up?

This sounds like that non-sense some crazy parents say, "you 18 now, u gotta move out and get a job"

Is it growing up when some people like athletes can retire when they're 25? Or how about when someone doesnt have to work a real job b/c their parents have a easy business with millions of dollars?

End of the day, that get a job and work til ur 65 stuff isn't relevant anymore in this day & age. Most ppl dont know for sure if they'll even have a job tomorrow.

You and everybody that dapped you are some lazy ass nikkas.

:beli: Lazy?

So what if he decides to quit his job, or take a lesser job to pursue what's in his heart?

You know how many ppl have done this and are now making MORE money or are much happier in their life? And the ppl who laughed at them initially are still working the same old job lookin :to:

Who wants to get up at 5am, sit in an office all day, get home at 6:30pm for the next 50+ years of their life? Then eat and go to bed by 8:30? If you have a wife, where does that work in? Kids? Personal time/exercise?

Where is your life?

Start thinking outside the box. The purpose of humanity is NOT to work on overstressed jobs that can kill you before you retire. That's actually what companies WANT to happen b/c then they dont have to pay u retirement. :scheme::whistle:

nikka

do you know how hard a good teaching gig is to come by? do you kno that they dont want teachers to get tenure so they're CUTTING teaching jobs rapidly?

let me tell you something. THERE IS NO EASY WAY OUT IN THIS WORLD!! if you want that lifestyle then give up a lot of your material possessions and leave meagerly. If everyone could make decent bread and have a good car, good insurance, and no worries don't you think they'd do it?

you're a writer right? go right some shyt. write a screenplay about a 20 something year old trying to find himself in this new world. hell write a book. there's obviously an audience of folks who can relate

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. -
Confucius

My entire life I knew that I wanted to practice medicine, and I worked to have that opportunity. I don't doubt there will be days where I want to stay home, but I can't see me ever dreading the job I'll have to do for 30+ years.
