Realistically, what was the last classic album?

I really didn't know this many people considered WTT a classic. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but it's nothing amazing.

This

i called college dropout the last classic album in the true sense because everytime i play it it takes me back to my senior year in undergrad and i have memories attached to the album...the only album to come close after it to it was american gangster and only built for cuban linx 2...there have been more classic mixtapes than albums in the 8 years since college dropout though

So your sayin it hasn't been a classic album since 97?

To me, no:

1. Not enough time has passed to consider much of anything recorded in the last 10 years as 'classic'.

2. This was one of the last albums I bought that I can listen all the way through without skipping a track.

#2 determines a 'classic album' rather than an 'album with classics', IMO.

Also surprising is the repeated mention of Section 80. This is coming from someone who LOVED Section 80. There's a diff between "something I like a lot" and classic. That's the diff to me between something like say, WTT & It Was Written.
