the man is hot garbage now. i was a fan when he was on ABC. hard to see him out here looking like this. he has gotten old and crotchety now. he was probably always trash but i was in high school and he was young enough to read the room and present his ideas in a more seemingly radical way than this. the reason he doesnt get called out for platforming certain people the way joe rogan does is because he is still part of "The Resistance!". that is a get-out-of-jail-free-card for otherwise stupid or crazy pundits. that is why you have people trying to invite scaramucci to the cook out. that's also why you have people on the left sounding like mccarthy and praising the feds and the cia.

most people think of people on the left as having a moral compass controlled by compassion for others. with neoliberals and centrists, that is not necessarily the case. sometimes they just selfishly want their particular kink to be mainstreamed, and once left politics does that for them, they are fine with society. that is why they can complain on a surface level and yet not go far enough to make systemic critiques. for maher, he needs society to be far enough to the left that he can smoke weed and fukk black women without having to be at risk or inconvenienced. the plight of palestinians has no bearing on that, and a broken economy actually drives more broke and desperate black women to him.

I stopped watching the show three years ago after he said something wildly Islamaphobic. He is a zionist and the only thing edgy about him in 2019 is he likes to smoke weed.

I don't know why anyone on the left likes him. Dude is an ivy-league educated Joe Rogan. (but both have the same level of intelligence, Maher uses bigger words. I despise Rogan too)

Maher was a major Mueller believer and since that was a giant wet fart, he's got nothing now. If he doesn't support Bernie, he can go fukk himself. He had Boots Riley on his old show in 2001 and didn't let the man even answer his questions. Hope he gets cancelled again.

I remember that episode with Boots. And let's be real, he only had him on because of the 9/11 Party Music album cover controversy, not to actually hear his thoughts on anything substantive. Hell, Sean Hannity had him on his show back around the same time.

But others have nailed it in earlier posts. We have MUCH better options for alternatives to cable news and political roundtables than fukking Bill Maher. I'd be even willing to give him some views if he had intriguing guests on because he was never the main draw of the show anyway. But his choices are neither interesting nor introspective.

Back around when I was just getting ready to graduate college, at least he would have people catered to my demographic for differing perspectives like Aaron McGruder, Krs-One, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mos Def, etc or the occassional Noam Chomsky or Cornell West cameo.

This is why I stopped watching RT. He's always giving these pieces of shyt a platform they don't deserve. That was enough for me to be done among the other things that have been mentioned in here.

This was the last episode of his I watched too, so it's going on three years.

He said something wildly Islamaphobic and then had Milos on to insult Larry Wilmore.

The Huffington Post has been raining on Amy Klobuchar’s presidential announcement with a series of stories about how she mistreats her staff. And Senator Klobuchar should thank them. Because here’s what might separate Klobuchar from some of the other Democrats — she might appear tough enough to do the job.

I think Democrats lose a lot of people in the middle because they appear too soft to run a Little League team, much less a superpower. They’re the “we feel bad for you” party. And yet, most people understand that no organization runs well without a strong manager at the top. Bill Belichick doesn’t have all of those rings because he tells players “Nice try, buddy. You’ll get ‘em next time!” when they blow an assignment. He cuts them. Whether you’re running a small business, a design team, or a concert choir, the results are better when the person at the top runs a tight ship and doesn’t make excuses.

When voters in the Midwest, many of whom who bust their asses to scrape a living together, hear that Amy Klobuchar is tough on her staff, I bet they say, “Good. Finally, a Democrat who doesn’t think the job of governing is about excusing bad behavior, apologizing, and shaming.” So you go, Amy Klobuchar. Own it. Here’s your new slogan: “Amy Klobuchar: A woman who isn’t afraid to kick somebody’s ass.”

I can't stop watching...I've basically made him apart of my friday/saturday routine for close to two decades. He's that integral to my media diet.

It hurts me to see dude turning into some fukking weirdo though.

Dude should knock a woman up ASAP cause he needs something bigger than himself.

He was the first dude to really challenge religion that I paid attention to, and he was left wing for the moment...but now...dude is looking like a damn never-trump republican with a way better sense of humor.

And that whole anti-SJW shyt all these comedians got wrapped up in is a cancer.
