Exactly, how much torture can the soul take? Seeing people from kids to men in your community die left and right...he actually cares about his community unlike a lot of rappers.
Truth be told, it's the "dumb thug" rappers who do more for the community than these intellectual elitists....who harp on how every else isn't positive.
you dont see these nerd rapping ass nikkas in the hood with turkeys on thanksgiving, you see all the dope boy rappers giving out toys to kids on christmas..
Rapper "cares about his community" but wants to quit doing the sole thing that gave him relevancy to said community?
lupe does give away food, this is a thread and i fell for it

Lupe Fiasco Cuts a Lock of His Hair and Gives it Away on Big Boy's Neighborhood - YouTube
A long line of Englewood residents waited for vegan ribs, macaroni and greens in front of Payless Grocery on 69th and Ashland.
Dinners like this dont usually exist in a sea of fast-food eateries. On Tuesday, the vegan flavors came from Soul Vegan Food, courtesy of hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco.
During Ramadan, the Chicago natives foundation has the goal of feeding 100 people a day. Some are in neighborhoods that are considered food deserts.
Payless Grocery is a corner store that has recently begun stocking fresh produce. Often these kinds of stores are the main grocers in communities like Englewood. But tension bubbles up around these stores because some of the businesses focus too much on junk food and liquor.
Its an issue Lupe is sensitive to his first album was called Food & Liquor. Changing that paradigm is what brought him out to Payless on Tuesday afternoon.
It may seem like its insignificant, but you never know whos going to walk away with something and whats the best way to put it but juxtapose it next to the thing, which is the most visited thing in the community, which is the corner store, Lupe said.
Lupe is Muslim and giving to charity is a tenet of the religion. During Ramadan, people who have enough food for their own families are also asked to provide food or other donations to help out the needy.
The Inner City Muslim Action Network is behind the campaign, called Muslim Run, to hold corner stores accountable for selling more nutritious food. Fifteen stores like Payless have signed a letter of intent to be aesthetically pleasing, offer healthier snacks and limit alcohol.
IMAN organizer Shamar Hemphill says corner stores have been selling unhealthy food in black communities for decades.
This has been practiced for over 40 years. Its a domino effect if other stores see stores begin to change the aesthetics, remove products that arent selling, Hemphill said.
The owner of Payless says the fruit has been flying off the shelves.
Do you think what Lupe said about Chief Keef was right or wrong friend?
it's not just a clear cut "right" and "wrong"
He only saying shyt cause a young rapper got shot the fukk up and it made it's way on twitter on some real savage shyt... over doing some shyt that by rule, should get you shot the fukk up in the streets...
He wasn't talking to Keef when I Dont Like came out and was buzzing, didn't hear nothing from him when Kayne jumped on the Remix in May.
What did he say when Keef signed to Interscope? What did he say when Keef got into it with Glizzy in DC?
Where was he when that Lil Mouse video hit the net?
What did you hear from Lupe when there was like 15 people shot in a half hour in Chicago?
but here comes Lupe, 3 weeks til his album comes out... talking bout how Keef ( who wasn't even in Chicago when it happened) needs to stop acting wild.
it's not just right and wrong, it's how the nikka went about it too.. and he did it the most hoeish of ways...using somebody dying, and turning it into a "look at me" event about he's done with rap...and to buy his album.
hoe nikka shyt at it's finest.
If I recall 50 does charity work (That whole Street King thing), and wasn't Rick Ross giving away turkeys on Thanksgiving Day or something like that?
lupe does give away food, this is a thread and i fell for it
Rick Ross and Meek gave out sneakers and gear to a High school in Philly last year too.
I never said Lupe didn't give food away... But people act like these "positive" rappers are the only ones doing things for their community...when in reality its the other end of the spectrum that does way more.
but ya know, "lupe cares about his community..unlike a lot of rappers"
he's actually been talking about issues in Chicago for some quite some time specifically in interviews same with keefs music. so we gon act like there wasnt a big thread on "lupe's scared of keefs message 2 weeks ago" .. him and Mikkey Halsted didnt come up with Gone" for the hell of it.
I mean, I like Chief Keef's music better than Lupe's, yeah I said it, but in this matter, Lupe seems sincere and has the balls to speak his mind in the midst of a genre with macho overload where people are just itching to get at you.
you need to chill.. Lupe gave the community veggies, breh..
nah.. thats commendable.. can't front on that..
