I am a few weeks late, but I remember 10 years ago when I first heard 'Change Clothes', it leaked sometime in mid October, I liked it, because it was Jay's new single, and Neptunes were reigning over music at the time, but I was also like what the fukk is this bullshyt? Jay was talking about this legendary album, 12 tracks, 12 producers, no promo, no single, no packaging, and he comes in with this bouncy ass, ridiculous single, granted he had some nice bars on there...

but, still Pharrell straight crooning on the hook and that shamelessly happy beat....it was a disappointment. Kinda like the 'dualities' of 'Magna Carta'.

To add to it, I think by that time 'PSA' & 'What More Can I Say' had leaked on Flex, so everyone was kinda caught off guard by that 'Change Clothes', when that high ass beat dropped lol....I was expecting some well crafted, intricate Neptunes beat and a track about Jay's legacy or some shyt, not jeans and no panties...SO NECESSARY

'Back it on up like a UHaul truck....and run and tell them ducks you heard Hoveys new shyt' get the fukk of here Jay....

'Do I look like a lame....who wouldn't understand a broad with a mean shoe game' foreshadows of the stumbles on some of 'Kingdom Come' more questionable tracks, regarding women's fashion...

You know thats a valid point Hiphopfan, this was one of the first times Jay was coming out, and while there was heavy anticipation and expectations, it was the beginning of newer/younger artists beginning to crowd Jay at the top, tho none of them have had the longevity he had, 'Stunt 101' and 'Gangsta shyt' from 'Beg For Mercy may have gotten slightly more plays and attention, around this time, as G-Unit craze was reaching a fever pitch..

Re: The Black Album, I still want to know just what the fukk they were thinking with 'Justify My Thug'....
