It sounded like the typical Neptune’s/Jay Z collaboration at the time.
Sound like the continuation of “frontin” which came out that summer.
I liked the song instantly but I’m not a huge Jayz fan so I could understand how his core fans felt.
Plus I always felt the Black Album was jsut a reaction to 50 cent showin onthe scene. I don’t think he drop that album as a concept if 50 doesn’t breakout. That was a chess move

what made "change clothes" sounds worse is the fact it came out few weeks after Jay's rival, Nas, released the street banger "made you look"
