i liken him to the smaller replacement back, sprioles.
who took over for ladainian in sd.
rb needed a bit of seasoning in small steps.
to get adjusted to the pro game mentally, physically/physiologically and skillwise.
before he could have success. given his height and smaller physical stature.
he needed the rampup time and experts had it right about him when he was drafted.
when typically most rb's never are given a chance. outside of luck of the roster or circumstance to rampup.

The Stigma attached to Reggie's game is due to the fact he wasnt dominant right out the gate and is essentially a late bloomer
Unfortunately, there is this idea that if Runningbacks are to be great they are suppose to be great from the very beginning
But there are cases of Backs being late bloomers ala 'Tiki Barber' or Cases of Runningbacks that simply didnt get opportunity to play fulltime like a 'Michael Turner' that excel at the later stages of their career
Reggie is still very Young and is very much in his Prime
If anything being a late bloomer has helped Reggie as he is Excelling now 6-7 Years into his career where were seeing his Peers like Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson who got a ton of touches early in theirs careers starting to fade
The Reggie I Saw Yesterday Was indeed the Gale Sayers Type Player we Expected to see out of College
