People buying nintendo systems for 3rd parties??? :childplease:

You buy nintendo systems for nintendo games. Thats it. Wii U could only have 1 game in it's lifetime and as long as that one game is smash bros 4 im copping! Everything else is icing on the cake.

:upsetfavre:

This right here is why nobody makes serious games for Nintendo, cause even the good ones flop because "you buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games"

Because of this mentality Nintendo is bound to fail:snoop:

Nintendo can't fail when they have over 10 guaranteed million sales franchises. 3rd party games that succeeded are bonuses for Nintendo. They can AND HAVE succeeded on the strength of their first party titles.

AS A GAMER you should know not to depend on Nitnendo systems for 3rd parties. And besides 3rd party exclusives will become more and more rare as time goes on. Should we count how many 3rd party exclsuives Sony lost this gen?

The wii was pure luck, your dumb if you think they can stay afloat with just them making games.

Doesn't matter how many exclusives Sony lost, games sell for the system.

They don't for nintendo

Again. 10 GUARANTEED million sales franchises. How do their games don't sale again? Nintendo has never banked on 3rd party to succeed and they never will. People acting like the wii is their first profitable system :thisnikka:

Gamecube didn't do bad. THEY BOTH got spanked by PS2.

Look im not saying 3rd parties aren't important. Of course they are. Im saying exclusive 3rd parties are not going to make or break nintendo. Nintendo first party titles are and always have been the key to their success and thats not going to change. You really think the wii u won't be a success to nintendo once they release a new mario/zelda/smash bros/mario kart/metroid/and pokemon? Those franchises print money breh.

Xbox was new to the game and came out years after the comp, Nintendo knows better.

The wii u won't be a success, fanboys will buy those games, developers will abandon the system and then the wii u will get a decent game twice a year:skip:

The Wii U gonna tank hard this gen...early....Nintendo is going to have to churn out multiple 1st party titles to keep it afloat. I'm still shocked to see they are so out of tune with what people want...if you want to innovate, cool...but they need to blow us away with graphics and have a good online experience these days.

Nintendo is looking like they're fukked. Many of their "killer apps" are still early in development and they can't cut the price because they're losing money on every console sold.

The Wii U is looking like a really bad decision. its technologically inferior to what Sony and Microsoft are gonna put out so it won't be getting ports of games from those consoles and third party developers are already distancing themselves from it.

basically Nintendo is gonna have to carry the whole system by themselves and it's flat out not gonna go crazy numbers with just them backing it. the casuals that bought the Wii have already abandoned Nintendo for tablet and smartphone games.

there's a very limited audience for this console its looking like its gonna end up in the same boat ad the Playstation Vita and 3DS. the question is can Nintendo withstand the 3DS and Wii U selling mediocre?
The thing is... the only people that didn't know this was going to happen were Nintendo stans.

I knew it would be basically old tech when comparing it to the Next Gen consoles. And I thought it was hilarious how Sony started droppin' news on the Vita which showed that it could basically work just like the WiiU controller with the PS3 which 6 years old

:dead:

I'm glad this is flopping because I absolutely hate when company in a technology based market doesn't strive to offer the consumer the best product possible.

Nintendo's Wii U isn't in the same graphical class as the New Xbox and PS systems. this is the second generation when Nintendo made the conscious decision not to put out equal hardware to their competitors.

In the previous generation the Wii had its gimmick that pushed it's sales and that gimmick coupled with Wii Sports got it into homes. eventually though everybody including Nintendo abandoned the Wii when it outlived its own gimmick. you've never seen a system that's moved almost 100 million units dropped so fast. Nintendo rushed into this next generation for a reason. unfortunately for them the Wii U has no such gimmick or anything to differentiate itself from its competitors. let's be real here nobody cares about that tablet controller and to an extent several developers have weighed in saying they're not porting current gen games over to the Wii U due to that controller. outside of that controller the Wii U is just an outdated system from a hardware standpoint that struggles to fully keep up with hardware from 2005 on some accounts.

this is a virtual no-man's land for Nintendo. Not powerful enough to compare directly to competitors. Not different enough to differentiate themselves from competitors. Cost too much to produce so system sold at a loss. the question is when you remove all those casuals out of the equation that over-inflated the Wii's numbers how many gamers are you left with to buy a system solely for Nintendo's games when the competitor's systems are far superior?

to me its looking like the Wii U will get Dreamcasted. people will adopt the attitude that their money is better spent elsewhere and just skip it. many of the loyal gamers and enthusiasts will wait and buy it on the backend just to play all the games they missed during the generation.

Iwata implies he may resign over poor business performance - NeoGAF

Nintendo has been burning up money for 2 years now. Iwata is about to offer his head on a platter if they can't turn this around.

You realize if Nintendo burned through the cash Microsoft did on the Xbox 360 and Sony did on the Playstation 3 the company would be extinct now?

Nintendo can't put out a box that loses billions like the PS3 and Xbox 360 did. Sony and Microsoft's gaming divisions are just that divisions of larger companies. Nintendo is their gaming division and that's all they are.

Nintendo is basically like Blockbuster. the industry has evolved to a point where they've outlived their business model. Nintendo can no longer put out systems that equal their competitor's power in the face of losing billions upfront when the third party licensing isn't gonna be there to help them make up losses. they have to think differently but at the same time we've reached a point where many or us don't want or need a piece of hardware from Nintendo. we just want their games and ideas.

since the PS4 is going to have a tablet screen on the controller and the Xbox is going to have an adaptor for a screen on their controller it is actually going to be easier to port the next gen games to wii-u than it is to port the current gen games.

also, nintendo aint going the sega route, not with their first party stable. that will pull them through regardless, sega didn't have that, sonic was never on the same level as nintendo first party titles, and even if it was, sega didn't have any other first party franchises to back that up. also, nintendo got the portable gaming on lock which sega also didn't have

those games can't be ported because the hardware isn't gonna be able to handle them. its like how Activision had different developers make Call of Duty for the Wii. because the Wii U hardware doesn't compare developers will have to make dedicated games for it.

Sure Nintendo has games that sell well but let's be honest Mario Galaxy 2 did like what 6-7 million in its lifetime. Black Ops II did that in a month. at the end of it all Nintendo can't produce enough Mario Karts, Smash Bros, Marios, and Zeldas to justify the purchase for many gamers.

the Wii has 2 Zeldas one was a Gamecube port. 2 Marios. 1 Smash Bros. 1 Mario Kart.

i don't regret buying my Wii U but i think they're gonna have a very hard time making this thing anything more than a very modest success and will probably finish a distant 3rd place in this coming generation.
