yeah, shyt was a bytchmade move, everybody knows that even those that try to defend him. Leaving the team, that saved his career and rewarded with the champiobship ring, for the team that just beat their asses two times in a row and on top of that the team that built the chemistry already. Loyalty also works both ways, I don't remember KG or Pierce campaigning for Ray to stay a Celtic. If it was really that serious, they should've offered him an extension before he got to free agency.

The no trade clause was added as a last minute ditch to keep him after Miami already came in. They also went out & signed Jason Terry before coming to Ray with any type of offer. But again he's supposed to just eat that & go back to a team where he was looking at maybe being 3rd on the SG depth chart?

You also keep glossing over the fact that Rondo (who was the future of the franchise) & Allen did not like each other.

A team with Rondo ,Pierce, KG, Ray, plus roles players like nate robinson , Avery Bradley, Glen Davis, Green/Perkins etc whoever they keep is still a playoff team in this garbage ass east. maybe not finals contenders but still competitive. Maybe good enough to attract a decent free agent to lengthen the run. Instead they blew up the ship in the hopes that 8 years from now they might have a superstar.
Last year they would've made it past the first round by default and maybe had a chance of beating the bulls in the second round with that squad.

You don't rebuild a team that is still capable of making the second round. you retool, sign a big name in free agency.
Miami did that and they have a chance of being a top 4 team in the east next season. not 8 years from now.
