Maybe I'm misremembering but it seems like WWF/E always always been ahead of the curve in terms of how they get their product out to the masses. From PPV, cable, the network, the use of social media and YouTube. I think this is just them getting ahead of the curve, hope it works out for them.

I haven’t watched a live episode of Raw or Smackdown since like 2005. I got the Network/Peacock to watch the old shyt I grew up on.

This may be the move that gets me to watch again, just due to convenience. I never cared enough to look for bootleg links. Been watching more NBA games since they started streaming on Max too.

I’m old enough to remember when people were laughing at the concept of WWE Network in 2012.

When WWE does something, the rest of the entertainment industry usually follows suit.

I dont remember people laughing at the concept, if anything people were happy because you went from paying 40 bucks for a ppv to "Only 9 dollars" for PPVs and a back catalog. What people were skeptical about is if they would be able to make up the revenue with only charging 9 dollars.

I havent seen the financial numbers so i dont know if that did turn out to be profitable before the Peackock deal.

Cable was pretty much built off the back of pro wrestling. If weekly WWE wrestling live on Netflix isn't greater proof that streaming has just become the new cable, I don't know what is :russ:
I mean technically, WWE just moved ONE show to a streaming platform. The most watched one is moving to cable, and NXT is on literal network tv..

So it’s not like pro wrestling just completely shifted over to streaming although people are gonna talk like it has. It’s just.. one show lol

If you don’t remember then you definitely are misremembering wrong. WWE network was clowned into oblivion. Laughed off the stage like a comedian on showtime at the Apollo

I was there. Laughing with everyone else.

Seriously. Netflix’s reputation has probably never been lower, streaming seems to be a bubble ready to burst, and now they’re committing to a service that pulls the plug on everything. Massive risk. Wonder what it means for commercial breaks.

Netflix is actually doing well currently. I've been tracking their stock and read some articles a while back on on how they're one of the only streaming services growing right now.
