RAW, all things considered, was pretty good. Yeah, there was stuff that was complete shyt (the Vickie evaluation segment), but I found that I didn't really remember all of that. Good matches and an excellent debut equals good RAW.
About the "Husky Harris" chants though:
1. So it's funny when the crowd completely shyts on Randy Orton and Sheamus with whatever inane chant they can think of (full disclosure: I thought it was funny too), but it's a complete and utter travesty when a crowd chants a worker's previous gimmick name at him?
2. Chant "Bray Wyatt," then chant "Husky Harris." Which is easier? Especially if you actually want to show appreciation for the guy's work.
3. Why in the fukk is everybody getting worked up over something that's completely and totally unimportant? You know what's important? The fact that people reacted LOUDLY to the Wyatt Family entering the arena. That means that 75% of their job has already been done and the vignettes were a rousing success. Somebody chanting "Husky Harris" is not worth losing your minds over, because Wyatt succeeded in the more important job that he had.
Seriously, some people need to get over themselves with this "proper behavior" garbage that they want to project onto fans. Didn't we shyt on TNA for telling fans that they needed to behave in a certain way? Newsflash: Behaving properly isn't the job of the fans. They are under no obligation to act in any way to make an angle or character get over. It's the WRESTLER'S job to entice the crowd to act in a certain way, and it seems that everyone in the business, from the fans on the boards to the wrestlers themselves, have completely forgotten this little fact of performance art. Nothing more, nothing less. Complaining about this is little more than petulant.
And honestly, if a wrestler can't overcome a "WHAT" chant or someone chanting their previous gimmick name, they need to get the fukk off of the mic and find another line of work. Chants like this have been in wrestling for damn near 2 decades ("WHAT" chants for 12 years now). Are you seriously telling me that a wrestler can't find any other way to deal with a chant than bytching about it? It's pathetic, quite honestly.
I have total confidence in Bray Wyatt, but if he can't overcome a fukking "Husky Harris" chant, then he was shyt to begin with.
