Why's it always have to be one person or the other? Can't the police officer and the girl both be wrong?

I don't think anyone is debating that the girl was being disrespectful. But the cops sensitive, emotional, anger-fueled overreaction is the far bigger story here. How you fail to see that is beyond me.

A grown ass white man couldn't handle dealing with a black teenager so he flipped the fukk out. Would you feel like that was an appropriate response?
