I didn't assume anything.

A question was asked why people are reluctant to blame her for anything.

The answer is because she's not on tape acting a fool. The arresting officer was. If the cop wasn't on tape doing what he did, we wouldn't even be here.

From the available information we have, it seems both the teacher and officer were overzealous in their "discipline"

The people looking to place blame on her without any proof are the ones making the assumptions. We don't know what she did. All we have is a statement from the officer that choked her and the teacher that cheered him on.

Do we have a statement as to what she was actually doing that caused the teacher to call the officer into the classroom? IMO if from the jump we knew what she was doing then this would be open and shut but for some reason there seems to be some hesitation to say what she did. Outside of spitting on and hitting the officer nothing should have warranted that response. So all the teacher, students, or girl have to do is admit what she did, then we can all say "Well, that doesnt call for the response that took place" and we can put this a$$hole away and be done with everything. But since her actions werent on tape i guess it doesnt matter.

Im sure im not the only person here who went to a school were resource officers had to put hands on students (deservedly so) so coming from that background if you show me half a video, immediately im going to want to know what the student did because if back in the day i showed you half a video of some shyt that went down you would have been blaming the officer too.

The View has been losing ratings for awhile and adding Raven has boosted them. Of course she is there for the shock and stupidity. The channel company knows people are going to watch or talk about it leaving ratings at their highest.

Why's it always have to be one person or the other? Can't the police officer and the girl both be wrong?

Everyone's too quick to let the social-media news cycle whip them into a new frenzy. New controversy?! Everyone get to your battle stations! Independent thought? You're a c00n, cac, whatever. Fall in line and tweet how angry you are until this dies down. We'll see you at the next controversy in a month.

Umm...:francis:

I don't think anyone is debating that the girl was being disrespectful. But the cops sensitive, emotional, anger-fueled overreaction is the far bigger story here. How you fail to see that is beyond me. :skip:

If your child came home with a broken arm (hypothetical) and you asked what happened and she said "I was on my phone in class and a police officer choked me, flipped me over, threw me across the room and pinned me to the floor"

A grown ass white man couldn't handle dealing with a black teenager so he flipped the fukk out. Would you feel like that was an appropriate response?

This isn't a rhetorical question, I need to see where your mind is at :patrice:

I dunno....maybe cuz its a grown ass cop with a history of being violent against blacks....being violent against a black teenager? You see nothing wrong with someone who is supposed to be a rational authority figure losing his cool with a kid? Nah lets put some blame on the girl. Same way of thinking as " she wouldn't have gotten raped if she didn't dress slutty!"

At this point she's clearly saying these things for attention and shock value. She can't be THAT naive. Still a c00n tho

My thoughts exactly. ANY attention is good attention in the selfie era.

:francis:

At first when she made that 'Watermelonesha' comment I thought she exposed herself butt naked as an idiot, in over her head ... But the controversy prob has the producers like....yo, lets keep this village idiot on deck...no one knows what she means but its provocative...gets the people going

I use to love me some Raven Symone.. but she has to cut it out with this "new black'' stuff. I really don't think she knows the consequences that she may have for having an "opinion". I'm not saying that she has to agree with everything that black people are doing and co-sign on popular opinion. Sometimes she just needs to think about what she is going to say... but she seems like one of those people that feels like she has to ruffle a few feathers in order to be seen. The white folks she is kissing butt for don't give a damn about her and won't be able to save her in the end...

Watermelondrea has spoken...LOL

This broad is Insufferably bad at being a human let alone a black one...

If only a race draft were a real thing :wow:
I'd propose to trade her out for Shaun King, a 12 piece mix, 6 biscuits, and a family sized order of red bean and rice...dropped fresh :banderas:

....From Popeyes of course :shaq:
