A good portion of the city didn't really have much going for it some years back. It was mainly residential. You have a bunch of transplants moving into the city and it's almost like a free for all. It isn't like places in NYC that have had certain immigrant groups or communities based there for 50+ years that have influenced the local culture.

Like Dykeman in Manhattan. That's a known spot if you wanna get some Latin flavor in your nightlife etc.

Not true. The city was chocolate city, that included culture, education and entertainment. It wasn’t mainly residential cuz government buildings have always been here. Major black businesses have always been here. The transplants are relatively new. Columbia Heights & Mt Pleasant has always been a hub for Hispanics.

I forgot to mention traffic is damn headache...especially now that I have to leave later from work.

Charles L'Enfant

Pierre L'Enfant is the "name" as the architect , but Benjamin Banneker should have received and recognized for the real credit- but you know how back then white people stole our concepts and ideas while claiming them as their own.
Pierre L’Enfant

ETA: My bad his middle name is Charles

So that's who they named that metro station after.

When I see DMV related comments on othe forums or news article comments people say they regret leaving the DMV even though they had some complaints.
I don't regret leaving. The traffic is too much. Great place to visit, cause there is alot to see an do.
