Been here since 2005. As a family man, I like it here. I think if I was a young single niigga I would be bored easily. I don't really go out for the nightlife around here, but the few times I've driven by Glenwood South I was underwhelmed. But I made the mistake of comparing it to NYC. It's come a long way since moving here though. The downtown area is developing a lot more. I would say that Durham's downtown vibe beats Raleigh by far. Lot of tech opportunities, and if biotech is your thing, this is the area to be in.

I've been wanting to move to Raleigh. Wife wants to move to Philly. But i feel my money would go further in North Carolina. If anyone here has kids, need to ask a few questions
1. what are the walkable neighborhoods? being able to walk to the grocery store or shopping center is a plus
2. What are the best schools academically and athletically(mainly basketball for high schoool)? Looking for elementary and high schools. I looked at a few public schools and they are overcrowded, like 3000-4000 kids. But I can't do charter schools because the deadline is fast approaching and i don't have a residence there.
3. Any suburbs I should consider? Cary, Morrisville? Should i look outside of wake county?
1. There is no real walkable neighborhoods outside of downtown here. Very unique in the sense that I've been nowhere that didn't have any walkability outside downtown...
Bro are you in biotech? if you are or even know someone that is. Can you put me on? Best companies to work for? diversity, stuff like that. I just need to get my foot in the door.
Not sure about that. I live near Brier Creek, close to the Durham border. I think that is a very walkable neighborhood. There's some other communities popping up in Northwest Raleigh that are conducive to walking.
Nah, fam, I'm in clinical research; the closest I came to biotech was working at a law firm where the lawyers specialized in biotechnology patents. Basically scientists with law degrees... Weirdest group of people I've ever worked with.

Are you a CRA? i thought about doing that but they travel about 70% of the time.
