I’m more surprised that Paris didn’t rank higher. That’s one of the top 10 world class cities.
I’m surprised at that too. The only thing wrong with Paris is that the people are a$$holes. I’m surprised Montreal ain’t on here. Very multicultural city with lots to do. The girls are A1, shopping is great, weed everywhere, festivals all summer, art scene is crazy and clubs are wild as hell.

Bama ass DC
Gotta spell it correctly if you gonna do the thread. It's with a W not a J. :francis:

For a city who's residents have included @General Mills and @hustlemania, you can see why the city is spelled with back to back L's. :troll:

I didn't see much to do there for the few days I was there. But I'm sure the residents like @portcityplaya find something to entertain themselves. The beach isn't that far away either but I didn't check that out. It's got some decent local grub so that's a plus. I didn't even attempt to ride the public transportation as I was advised not to. They got a few bar areas around downtown but I didn't really experience much there. Didn't look too special.

I can say I been to the city but for those that haven't, it's not much more than a weekend trip if that. And that's if you within driving distance cuz it's not worth spending airfare on.

Sidenote on your pics. That fountain looks much nicer than in person. Looked dead when I was there. And the only interesting thing about that blue bridge is my friends trolling on his Facebook post when he took a pic of it. Talking about that's the friendship fountain which I think it's true, and the bridge is where Columbus and Ponce De Leon met. Hence the name friendship fountain. :mjlol:

That trash ass fountain aint shyt. shyt broke as fukk and falling apart.
And most the buildings OP posted in the pic have more open offices than tenants.

I moved down there for a year from the Chicago area with my girl...

What I liked:

The weather in October was beautiful. Cost of living was decent.

I lived on the Southside right off of San Jose Blvd so I was close to damn near anywhere I needed to go.

The females were pretty decent like somebody else mentioned, but Idk if I would put them over Chicago females.

shyt I hated:

The tap water was undrinkable and left spots on dishes if you didn't dry them.

The food down there was trash. McDonald's and IHOP giving me hard pancakes. I never had to ask for a waiter take my food back but I almost had to at the IHOP on baymeadows but my girl talked me out of it.

Popeyes used to take 20 minutes or more to give me my food. Service was just too slow down there. Them mfs gave me some bloody chicken once too. Didn't eat popeyes again until I came back up here.

Mfs can't drive for shyt down there. Literally had to avoid an accident every day I lived down there.

Warehouse jobs don't have AC :dahell:

Mfs can't/dont hoop.

Nasty ass water bugs.

Everybody started and got off work at the same time so traffic was really bad in the morning and around 5. And if there was an accident traffic would get backed up all the way to the side streets.

That jacksonville college was so unorganized too. Wasted my time trying to enroll and transfer my credits there.

Overall this city gets a 3 from me. I really regret moving there

Everything has been said already but basically the only reason to go to Jacksonville is if your broke you trying to get right.

big city with a small country feel, boring, cheaper col, lots of opportunities in logistics and so forth.

few years back people who got approved for section eight had to move to Jacksonville to get on it sir shows how empty that place is and boring.

no reason to go once you get situated.

:dwillhuh: At Miami, Las Vegas and San Francisco not even being in the top 10.

You right about San Diego being in the top 5 though. That town is amazing:wow:

Miami and Vegas mainly party cities and I know Miami didn't get much votes. Don't know if reopening polls may change their scores. Honolulu surprised me cuz I hear it's a high cost of living. Charlotte a bit too but it seems like an underrated city. Oakland is questionable. Could be top ten worthy but not sure. Rest of top ten seems legit.

I’m more surprised that Paris didn’t rank higher. That’s one of the top 10 world class cities.

Yeah that's true. Seems like it should've at least cracked the top five but I feel like international cities are tougher and more competitive. Didn't know you did Havana. Never been so couldn't have voted. And don't have much knowledge of the city just from what my grandparents had told me. My dad left when he was ten so he didn't experience much of his life there anyways.

It's not fair to judge a city's food based on fast food alone

It's not saying much.

At 900 square miles that "city" is large enough to fit DC 15 times over. Its larger than Montgomery County and Prince Georges County combined.

It's just a ridiculously large suburb with a downtown district.
like a REALLY big Gwinnett County

By virtue of being the largest city in the US by land mass and hella spread out, Jax has a ton of hoods.

The area with the highest violent crime is probably still the Grand Park area around EWC campus in and around Kings road.
my brother had a scholarship offer to go to Edward Waters, went to Texas Southern instead

EWC is :whoa: The area is :lupe:

Been to plenty of college parties down that way. Been lucky to get out of a few scraps. College kids mingling in the hood with some real thugs. Never a good mix. :russ:

Plus cops are heavy in that area.

I lived in Duval for a couple of years but I’m not from there. My thoughts:

Big city size wise, but a small town feel. If you are coming from a big city that moves at a fast pace, there will be a major adjustment period.

Public transportation is trash

Nightlife is average at best

Women are underrated. More bad bytches in Jacksonville than people may think. I can honestly say they easily got badder hoes than Chicago. Hella pawgs if you into that type of shyt for you pawg lovers

Weather is great. It rains fairly often, but it never seems to ruin the day. Like it can rain in the afternoon for an hour but the shyt be clearing up quick. It’s hot as hell. Super humid out that bytch. No winters for all intents and purposes. You in hurricane country so you get heavy rains during hurricane season, but Jacksonville actually makes it through unscathed most years.

I live on Westside off 103rd, Arlington off university and Bretta st, Northside off Lem Turner, and a few other spots.

I was on some hustling shyt when o was there so I know the streets well. Duval streets are grimey. No gangs like that, but neighborhood cliques. You can’t trust them nikkas cause they cutthroat as fukk, but an outsider can come down there and hustle with no problems. Very open on that aspect.

But if you catch cases out there you have to get a lawyer. They don’t play fair. They over sentence and it’s a good ol boys town. Don’t fukk around and catch a case during election year cause them judges be on some other shyt.

North Florida and south Florida might as well be 2 different states they so different.

Food average. But great if you love seafood. Very good Caribbean food in Duval though.

Weed average. Much better weed in closet cotes like Atlanta and Miami. You can find high grade out there easily though, but it’s a lot of average weed in Duval.

Tired of talking bout this city. I rate this shyt a 4

Pretty accurate.

:ehh:
