I've only been to the downtown area and some mall plaza. Never seen the hoods everyone talks about there and don't plan to lol. I hear the cops pull you over if you drive just 5 mph over the limit.
By virtue of being the largest city in the US by land mass and hella spread out, Jax has a ton of hoods.

The area with the highest violent crime is probably still the Grand Park area around EWC campus in and around Kings road.

Bama ass DC
The biggest shythole in america.
City trash af. Big ass cowtown. Not even really a city with a city mindset.

Smells like shyt.

Racist as fukk. The things this city does to keep black folks down is amazing.

Not a place for young black men at all.

The women are trash. All of em got kids already or plain out look dirty.
The imported women are decent.

Boring as fukk. It's like 3 areas in town to go. Riverside (hipster crowd), the beaches(mixed), and towncenter (aint shyt but a shopping center folks act like it's poppin)
After like a year youve basically done everything

Produce trash ass 2 pick 6 throwing QBs named Mac Jones

Big ass military dikk suckers gets annoying real quick.

It's not a day I wake where I hope Kim Jong don't get his shyt together and nuke this muthafukka.
I hate this bytch.

St. Augustine (down below Jax) is beautiful with it's Spanish architecture

I think I want to visit Jax next year and possibly move there as well

I lived in Duval for a couple of years but I’m not from there. My thoughts:

Big city size wise, but a small town feel. If you are coming from a big city that moves at a fast pace, there will be a major adjustment period.

Public transportation is trash

Nightlife is average at best

Women are underrated. More bad bytches in Jacksonville than people may think. I can honestly say they easily got badder hoes than Chicago. Hella pawgs if you into that type of shyt for you pawg lovers

Weather is great. It rains fairly often, but it never seems to ruin the day. Like it can rain in the afternoon for an hour but the shyt be clearing up quick. It’s hot as hell. Super humid out that bytch. No winters for all intents and purposes. You in hurricane country so you get heavy rains during hurricane season, but Jacksonville actually makes it through unscathed most years.

I live on Westside off 103rd, Arlington off university and Bretta st, Northside off Lem Turner, and a few other spots.

I was on some hustling shyt when o was there so I know the streets well. Duval streets are grimey. No gangs like that, but neighborhood cliques. You can’t trust them nikkas cause they cutthroat as fukk, but an outsider can come down there and hustle with no problems. Very open on that aspect.

But if you catch cases out there you have to get a lawyer. They don’t play fair. They over sentence and it’s a good ol boys town. Don’t fukk around and catch a case during election year cause them judges be on some other shyt.

North Florida and south Florida might as well be 2 different states they so different.

Food average. But great if you love seafood. Very good Caribbean food in Duval though.

Weed average. Much better weed in closet cotes like Atlanta and Miami. You can find high grade out there easily though, but it’s a lot of average weed in Duval.

Tired of talking bout this city. I rate this shyt a 4

Ghatdam. I typed my shyt out and had to delete it. You hit every fukkin point perfect:ohhh:

Was here when I was stationed in the Navy. Got out went back home. Then had a job offer so I came back to Jax. Been here ever since. Your description was dead on:whoo:

I had no idea that Jacksonville had almost a million people in the city alone
:leon:

It's not saying much.

At 900 square miles that "city" is large enough to fit DC 15 times over. Its larger than Montgomery County and Prince Georges County combined.

It's just a ridiculously large suburb with a downtown district.

Gotta spell it correctly if you gonna do the thread. It's with a W not a J. :francis:

For a city who's residents have included @General Mills and @hustlemania, you can see why the city is spelled with back to back L's. :troll:

I didn't see much to do there for the few days I was there. But I'm sure the residents like @portcityplaya find something to entertain themselves. The beach isn't that far away either but I didn't check that out. It's got some decent local grub so that's a plus. I didn't even attempt to ride the public transportation as I was advised not to. They got a few bar areas around downtown but I didn't really experience much there. Didn't look too special.

I can say I been to the city but for those that haven't, it's not much more than a weekend trip if that. And that's if you within driving distance cuz it's not worth spending airfare on.

Sidenote on your pics. That fountain looks much nicer than in person. Looked dead when I was there. And the only interesting thing about that blue bridge is my friends trolling on his Facebook post when he took a pic of it. Talking about that's the friendship fountain which I think it's true, and the bridge is where Columbus and Ponce De Leon met. Hence the name friendship fountain. :mjlol:

:russ: why billy? lol that nikka Jamaican ain't no Jamaican nikka named billy. Fam he a legendary DJ (Cool Runnings!) if I was a rapper I would GLADLY have him host my shyt. Dropped multiple classics with Yo Gotti, Gucci, Jeezy, Ross, Ace Hood, Dolph and Lucci.

Jacksonville is lame as fukk call that shyt wacksonville. I was doing my national guard duty there from 2008-2011.

downtown is trash as fukk. The little river walk thing that’s there is lame as fukk and has your run of the mill bars and restaurants. Town center or whatever it is is lame as shyt. Almost got in a fight at this club called suite cuz I was hollering at this dudes chick:russ: hey homie was eating shyt around the club Lolly gagging while his girl was solo so I just swooped in.:manny: Didn’t know she was taken. The strip clubs are not all that and the strippers look run down.

the beaches were straight and I had an ok time there. Probably the best part of Jax. Other than that the chicks there are trash, got no aspirations and mad kids.

Cacs from there might as well be from South Georgia. The cops pull you over for everything. The hood is on the northwest side from what I remember. That’s all I got:francis:
