Moving here at the end of the month. Staying in Aurora with my cousin. Got a job lined already with the city of Denver. I'll give an accurate account of my experiences here when I'm done. Darkskin black guy, raised between Nebraska and Florida, Bahamian/ADOS descent.
Weather:

Wintertime is cold as shyt. Nebraska is actually colder though so it evens out. Summertime gets hot, roughly around the same temps as Florida but dry like Phoenix. Denver also has an ozone pollution problem that flares up during the summer.

Safety:

7. Denver is much safer than Omaha & South Florida. There is a gang problem though. nikkas got big ass guns out here. It's easy to avoid honestly though if you just mind your damn business & don't be in places you know damn well you have no business being in.

Culture/black community:

Every black person I've met out here falls into one of 4 groups:

- Gentrified Cali nikkas
- Africans
- Black people who have been here since Great Migration times with roots in Mississippi/Arkansas/Louisiana & were gentrified out of Five Points/East Denver
- nikkas & bytches from random parts of the country who moved here just to get high everyday

It's cool though. It isn't an overarching sense of community but we show each other love for the most part. Like I said, there is a Blood/Crip element out here that will keep you on your toes. The majority of the black population is in Park Hill, Northeast, Montbello, Green Valley Ranch & Aurora.

White people cool. They tend to be on some snarky Pacific Northwest shyt though. Denver is the kind of place where you'll go into a 100% white neighborhood & see a bunch of Black Lives Matter signs & white people who adopt black kids lol.

Nightlife:

This ties into the black community. There's only so many clubs, bars and lounges that play rap, R&B, reggae, dancehall & Afrobeats so if you go out every weekend you'll eventually wind up seeing all the same people :mjlol: It's cool though. I'm not really a big club guy, I don't drink or smoke but I vibe to the music & talk to the women when I go out.

Things to do:

THIS THE BEST PART :wow:

Hiking, biking, kayaking, rafting, skiing, snowboarding, tubing. You will get your ass outside & have so much fun out here!!!!!! I live seconds away from Cherry Creek & I literally could go hiking everyday if I wanted. I'm outside every chance I get. You won't find too many fat people here, everyone is outside being active.

Economy/cost of living:

The cost of living ain't Omaha, but it isn't NYC/LA either. This is offset by the job market. There is an OVERFLOW of well paying jobs here. The minimum wage here is $17. I stay in a 2/1 with my cousin & the rent was recently raised to $1750. The complex I stay in is ratchet though but I'm cool.

One thing you'll notice though? The homeless epidemic. They are EVERYWHERE, living in tent cities, getting high on heroin, meth, fentanyl, anything they can get their hands on.

Women/dating:

Before I moved here, I seen a thing where people called Denver "Menver" because of the overload of single men. That's probably true if you're a nerdy smarmy white dude with horn rimmed glasses & a flannel shirt who feel like God's gift. If I see a girl in public that I'm attracted to, I spit game. They either like your vibe or they don't. I've been successful & I'm not Handsome Gang, I just open my mouth & say things to make them smile lol.

Denver is an extremely active city so you'll be hard to find overweight girls. I got a thing for thick girls/BBWs tho :mjcry: The sistas are pretty but there's a lot of Stacey Dash from Clueless types as well as pothead dopefiend baser types. The white women are fit as hell & have amazing bodies. I wasn't into white girls like that before I moved out here but these women will turn you into an SEC football player. There's a good amount of biracial girls out here & they cool too, they either act like white girls or caricatures of what they think black girls are lol. Hispanic women cool but they got a tendency to be shaped like boxes. There's a good amount of Asian/Pacific Islander broads out here too & they have an addiction to brothers :wow: If you a black man, you gone eat regardless.

Food:

Good. I'm not a foodie per se but I have a range of tastes. The only thing irking me is how hard it is to find good oxtails out here & the one place that had it decent was charging damn near $30 a plate. shyt pissed me off but besides that the food is cool. I eat a lot of Asian, Mexican, Italian, Hawaiian & Caribbean food.

Weed:

Ubiquitous. Omnipotent. Cheap. You can't go anywhere without getting some weed or being offered some weed. I don't smoke weed at all though, it makes me paranoid. I take CBD gummies & it literally zapped my anxiety & depression.

Shopping:

We have all the other options every other city has lol. I'm not no Gunna ass nikka tho, my "drip" is a black tee, gold chain, earrings, watch, Levi 501s & some Air Maxes. Throw on the North Face bubble when it's cold.

Traffic/transportation:

There is always construction & Denver is spread out as hell. Traffic during rush hour is no joke. However, it honestly ain't that bad in my opinion. Denver has a lot of side streets & shortcuts to get around hopping on I-70/I-25/Colfax. What helps Denver as well? The public transportation out here is great, top 5 in the country. The airport is Illuminati HQ but has destinations to everywhere, literally.

That's all I got to say.

Where you going for your oxtails? If I don't cop at H Mart and make some myself I used to get some at this truck called Jerk Link up. They moved from their aurora spot though. I heard Penthouse was decent but I haven't made my way out there yet.

Denver is a great city from my experiences!

Quality marijuana!
Hella outdoor activities!
Food scene is A1!
ALOT of fit women!

And if you go during Fall-time, the scenery is fukking amazing!

I have heard there is gang activity, but I have yet to see any! - probably because I mind my business and don't hang out where I don't need to lol

a couple of people I went to high school with (white) either moved or visited Denver and all they rave or post about on social media is the ability to go outside and stick a pinecone up they ass or hug a tree, kinda put me off Denver because I thought that's all it had to offer. Don't get me wrong I like to do outdoor activities but when that is it, it gets boring.

idk go out and explore the city, you said it yourself, there is only so much to do when it comes to clubs, especially clubs that play black music. I'm comparing it to a L.A. Chicago, South Florida, Houston, NYC, etc.

There are clubs though, which I stated. Clubbing is the same in every city, if you go out every weekend eventually you will go to all of them & tire yourself out. And if clubbing is #1 in entertainment to you, then unfortunately your view is limited my brother.

it's not and I never said that lol the places I mentioned have known club scenes, I wouldn't go out to a club every weekend like I'm sure you don't go hike or kayak every weekend, it gets formulaic and boring. My point was, it seems like that is the number 1 thing to do, going off your excitement of the post and saying what you said about the club.
